FARAON Pinto Beans, 4 lb

First time purchasing from this brand and will definitely order again. Have to agree with another reviewer who commented on how much better these are in quality. Cooked low and slow, the traditional Mexican style (in a cast iron pot best -- in oven, for about an hour or so, at 300F), these came out creamy in texture and superior to canned. I didn't find broken beans in the bag yet, and these seemed quite clean with no rocks. Always rinse and check the beans before adding to the cooking vessel. Some prefer soaking, but these cooked up well without soaking ahead of time. I also prefer to cook beans from dry, rather than be concerned with cans that could have BPA. And the dried beans are more economical, and well worth the extra effort to cook. You can also freeze cooked beans to have ready in advance.

Excellent beans. I scan all beans for pebbles and debris and have found none. Good flavor and price. I'm not sure what warmth means in the evaluation. Perhaps it means making bean bags and heating them to provide hand warmers in one's pockets if one lives in Fairbanks or Iceland. We live in Florida so that kind of warmth is not important.

Clean, tasty, vacuum sealed, nice and dry so no mold or mildew, no plastic or other odors.

I expected one large bag. I can buy small bags locally. I do not recognize the brand but the beans cooked up well. They were clean with no bad beans or bits of dirt or rocks. The beans were fresh and the flavor was good as well.

Excellent pinto beans - and this comes from a texican who knows. And the coolest thing, the only thing we have been asked to sign for in probably 3 years, is a 4 pound back of pinto beans - but this is texas and those beans are special !

Great deal for a whole lot of beans. I'm on my second to last bag and haven't found a single rock yet. A few kernels of corn, but that's fine. No bugs or anything like that. They cook pretty quickly, which I have heard is a sign of freshness. The bags are all intact, no rips.

I'm sure these are tasty, but I got them to replace the pellets in the Breeze cat litter box system. The pellets were hella expensive. My cats don't object to these,these last longer, and it's a third of the cost of their pellets. Any dried bean about this size or larger would work.

The color was a little dark and grayish?, but maybe it's been too long since I soaked beans and am used to canned. They cooked-up nice and tasted good, so what more could you want?
