the material is not latex free. this needs to be mentioned as this was has a completely different resistance to the latex free theraband. I got misguided and now have returned the item. Waiting for refund.

This is an awesome tool - extremely versatile and overall a great product. I recently got this because I'm strengthening my feet for Ballet and it works like a charm. I've been using it all day and you can feel your muscles being worked (I have moderate strength, though this is my first time doing much anything excercise-related and I do not start class til fall. The blue worked well for me) it came no damage, in it's original packaging. It does have this odd smell... It has almost a hint of vanilla but it's weird, you'll like it or hate it but it'll go away in time. Also be warned that it comes with a light powder on it- this can irritate sensitive skin, so just wash itwith mild soap and after you dry it, just put some baby powder on it (or even nothing at all like myself. It came on-time though the package seemed to have been "missent" to a few places according to tracking, (but that's usps's fault, not the shipper (LB Chiro & Med)). Anyways, this is great and everything I'd hoped it would be and I can see myself using it for many months to come :D I'd definitely recommend this to anyone at all, even if you're unsure about it, it's only $4 so go ahead and try it- you wont regret it!P.S. don't leave it in the sun - I heard from others that it will get brittle and break.P.P.S. just a tip; this thing wont last forever - it is good quality, but will only take so much stress- be prepared to have to replace it a few months from now... & If you aren't feeling challenged enough with the color you purchase, just purchase the next heaviness and it works great!

Got a blue one. Had an awful chocolaty latex smell and broke five times in the first few weeks, using it for back exercises.

I bought this band to use with  EA Sports Active 2 . It is heavier than the band that comes with the game: exactly what I needed. The only reason I rated this band 4 rather ta 5 stars is that the first one I got broke after having it for about 6 months (maybe just a bit longer). I ended up buying the same band because the price was just right for what I got. EA Sports Active 2

Thera-bands are extremely effective exercise tools for muscle strengthening. They provide smooth tension without any abrupt jarring sensations when doing stretching exercises , particularly for arm, shoulder, chest, and calf muscles . They travel easily with you everywhere . Extremely lightweight and easy to pack in a purse or a computer bag. Pull it out to exercise anytime , anywhere. I have moved to the blue and black bands which provide the maximum tension for muscle building. But users can start at the lowest pink level, move to the green and then to stronger bands. I learnt about Thera-bands at the physical therapy center of the local hospital where they are used for physical therapy and rehabilitation. I could not buy these at the local sports store , so the Amazon source was very helpful.
