I bought a set for our first grandchild and a second set 4 years later for second grandchild. They are excellent for first-time readers and a timeless never-fail reading teacher. I’m very pleased with the books.

My grandson turned 6 years old yesterday! He is a bright kid but hasn’t started reading yet. So Dick & Jane, here we come!! Worked for me 65 years ago, my son 35 years ago! Now it’s Wes!s turn!!

I bought this for my 5 year old great grandson. He does NOT like books. I know he could read them. That being said, the little books have the same pictures and verbiage we grew up with. Easy to read. Great way to teach your little ones...just wasn't for mine ( sad face)

Granddaughter has started to read. She enjoys reading them.

Pros: These little stories are simple and innocent. Easy and attractive to little ones. The artwork is fun, too, even if it shows the old traditional American family which seems to annoy some. Cons: I found no cons. I enjoyed these readers as a child and used them for some of my own kids. Folks who get freaked out of the "See, Dick" writing need to grow up.
