Is this a residue free shampoo, safe to use on dreadlocks?

I would say yes. I have soft water which makes a difference but I haven't noticed a residue. I've heard that after a while any shampoo can begin to build up and for that reason, one should alternate shampoos from time to time. Hope this helps!! 

Will this shampoo help with my excessively oily scalp? and does it contain sulfate or paraben?

It has ammonium laureth sulfate. No SLS! No parabens! Not sure about the oily scalp but if you use it daily, it should help. This shampoo is made for frequent use, per the label. I love it & find that it does a great job & I love the fragrance!! It's formulated for "normal to oily" hair, per the label.
