Nice for the collection.
Bought for myself. Straight out of the box, it ran nicely. Quite a big engine next to Thomas and still scales nicely pulling Annie & Clarabel. Hopefully, Gordon's passenger coaches will be released this year.

DONT BUY GET KATO INSTEAD (PLEASE)
Do not buy Bachmann. I just got one, and literally out of the box, it’s already binding and having gear problems. I opened it up, and the gear is already split. This is unacceptable. If you want quality and reliability, save up and buy Kato instead. Their locomotives are far more durable, run smoothly, and are well-built in every way. In short: Bachmann is not worth it.

Thomas for the grown up kid in you.
My older son (20) always loved his Thomas the Train toys as a child and we could all probably recite many of the episodes as often as he would sit with his toys and watch the shows. As he grew up this turned into a true love of all things transportation. He has a fairly significant love of model trains and always wanted another Thomas the Train set. This is a good replica at the N Scale model size of the character and my son is in love with them all over again.
