A true collectible that channels the classic Russian tea tradition. ## Description Glass holders were invented at the end of the XVIII century. The main reason for their creation was the etiquette, which allowed women, but not men, to drink tea out of porcelain cups. Men had to use glasses, which got hot very quickly, making it difficult to drink tea. The men's troubles were finally over, when one very creative mind finally invented the glass holder, which later became a staple at every train car table. Review: A taste of Old Russia ........ - Kolchugino Metalworks is a quality outfit and this is the second time I have bought one of these. Both are from different vendors but same factory in Russia. The metal is quality(Nickle plated brass) and sturdy and these will last forever. This is the same Podstakannik that you see on the trains in Russia today and were very common in the old days of the Soviet Union. Good product and I love mine. Anybody that says it's poor quality doesn't know what they are talking about when it comes to Podstakannik and Kolchugino. Review: Beautiful, Solid, Excellent Details - I'm very happy with my new podstakanniks, they are very sturdy and feel very nice to the touch. The finish is excellent and they were clearly made with pride and skill. I'm very pleased with the work done to make them. ## Features - Made in: Kalchugino, Russia - Made by: Kalchugino Metal Works - Height: 4'' (10 cm) - Material: nickel-plated brass - Drinking glass is not included ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00CB27YU4 | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #2,449,674 in Home & Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen ) #2,119 in Tea Light Candle Holders | | Brand | Kalchugino Metal Works | | Brand Name | Kalchugino Metal Works | | Capacity | 10 ml | | Color | Gray | | Customer Package Type | Frustration Free Packaging | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 108 Reviews | | Finish Types | Metal | | Item Weight | 8 ounces | | Manufacturer Part Number | 43178-579862 | | Material | nickel-plated brass | | Material Features | Heat Resistant, Dishwasher safe | | Material Type | nickel-plated brass | | Model Number | Tt7489 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Pattern | Solid | | Product Care Instructions | Hand Wash Only | | Product Style | Modern | | Recommended Uses For Product | Home | | Reusability | Reusable | | Shape | Round | | Size | 0.3 Ounces | | Specific Uses For Product | Cold Drinks, Hot Drinks | | Style | Modern | | Theme | Wedding | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Kalchugino Metal Works - **Capacity:** 10 ml - **Color:** Gray - **Material:** nickel-plated brass - **Style:** Modern ## Images ![Russian Imperial Coat of Arms Classic Russian Tea Glass Holder/Russian Podstakannik for Hot or Cold Liquids - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41FuDxPVyiL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is the fit snug?
