Incredibly versatile quality ingredient...
I have tried a few different types of miso and this has a considerably better flavour than any other I have tasted. As an ingredient, it adds a very fulfilling flavour that I imagine is the umami you hear chef's and foodie's referring to, like that almost beefy taste you get from a good mushroom, though I find it hard to find a good parallel to describe it. Miso soup is the obvious way to use this and it is very easy to make quick, fulfilling soup. With a teaspoon of this stuff, a little seaweed, spring onion and diced silken tofu (made using a dashi broth, if you want to go all out authentic) you have a quick light lunch or a delicious appetiser. However, I find it most useful to add to noodle dishes to lift the flavour of either a stir fry or, preferably, a noodle soup. This keeps in the fridge for literally ages and is something I always like to have in, for those times I fancy adding a little Japanese influence to my cooking, or just adding a little extra depth to a sauce or gravy.

Lovely in soups
Im still on soup's. But it does ramp up the end result. Im not on ramen yet still not confident of amount and timing. I forget that it should not be added to boiling water. There is no complaints here. When i get the delivery it’s always wrapped up well and it has no bumps or chips in the glass. The jars will come in for good use. Enjoy the miso its never gone wrong only other ways to add it. Clearspring has more than miso, check them out.

Very good miso
This miso is authentic fermented and non pasteurised. I use it since a long time. Best product I ever found in UK. I use both brown rice+ soya and the barley+soya. I highly reccomend it.

great product to bringflavours to soups and stews not jut for making miso soup’
I use miso as a flavour enhancer above pre made stock cubes’ its got a slightly sweet beefy flavour even though its not made with animal products’ very nice I like this brand because its clean and healthy
