RedingtonClassic Trout Fly Fishing Rod and Form Game Rod for Cast Training

I’m fairly new to fly fishing and struggled with getting good casts. They rarely felt right and my line would pile up for a poor presentation. This “game” helped immensely to see the cast on a smaller scale and correlate the feel for when it was a good cast. Real fly line and a rod that actions realistically too! Would highly recommend for a new learner or someone thinking about getting into fly fishing.

Excellent fly rod. I have the 8'6" 4wt. Casts to 50 yards with ease, perfect for smaller rivers. Was better in light wind than expected. In strong wind it doesnt get the job done but does any 4wt really! Highly recommend this or aFenwick Aetos if you looking for performance and a great inexpensive rod. These kind of rods only come around ao often and I'm thinking of buying a 2nd.

With this rod, getting into tighter spaces is a breeze! It’s got plenty of action and casts like a dream. The transport tube is also a huge plus! What else would you expect from a Redington product!

A very nice trout rod, especially for the price. I own three 4wts, including a high end Orvis. This Redington isn't far behind the Orvis in my opinion. Difference in quality of cork, reel seat, etc. is obvious, but in terms of casting, there's not much difference at all. A 4wt is a small stream rod. It needs to load with a few feet of line and the CT does the trick. Out to 30 feet, it throws a tight loop without much effort. I haven't landed anything bigger than 14" on it and would not want to. If I were fishing a river with 14"+ trout, I'd be using a 5. No rod does everything (which is why I own so many). This one handles modest trout streams very nicely.

Excellent for learning and practicing fly casting. You can practice accuracy, slipping line, timing, all types of casts, and light hauling. Also great to hit your office friends in the face while they are trying to take important work calls.

Fantastic little rod. I replaced a broken Eagle Claw rod with this and couldn’t be happier. That rod was terrible to cast, and this one practically casts itself by comparison. Went from missing every hookset to landing fish on back to back casts. Definitely worth the small investment.

Fun, interesting and easy to use. Now casting well and will play with outside when it stops raining. in the house I was able to cast 25 feet and hit a smartie at that distance with no issue
