API QUICK START Freshwater and Saltwater Aquarium Nitrifying Bacteria 4-Ounce Bottle

I’ve been keeping freshwater fish tanks for five years now I do use API a lot more than some other companies because for my needs it does a great job. You can rely on a PI to deliver, and if there is any problem, you can contact the company they have pretty good Customer service. They too are enthusiasts in the hobby and also lifestyle, but they also understand that sometimes things go wrong. In my opinion, API is a great company. I would love to do some YouTube videos and maybe they would sponsor me.

My old aquarium started leaking at the sides so I had to replace it in a hurry. Besides using the same filter media in the new tank that was used in the old tank, I started from scratch with everything else in the tank. I bought this Quickstart product in hopes I can avoid going through the long cycling process that's hard on fish. After filling the new tank I added the amount stated on the bottle, and adding a smaller amount with each weekly water change. It's been about a month and my new aquarium has remained crystal clear the entire time without any signs of bacterial bloom or cloudiness, I've also been using water test strips and so far the water quality has remained good. While I'm sure using previously used filter media helped, there have been times before when I've upgraded to new tanks and the water still would become cloudy even with a previously used filter so I feel like this product definitely made a difference. I originally purchased it to help with the initial cycling but now I plan to continue using it when doing larger water changes or when replacing the filter media.

I needed to do a MAJOR clean and overhaul of the primary water filter in my 75 gal tank. I was confident doing so would throw off the beneficial bacterias that filter the water and prevent toxic buildup of nitrates, etc. I read a number of reviews that recommended this product for when water changes were done, not just new tank setups. I can say that after thoroughly cleaning and replacing parts of the filtering system, changing water (25%), and applying this product per instructions on the bottle, my fish and plants showed zero stress and my chemical water parameters testing kit over 2 days showed perfect levels. So it must work, right?

This product is effective at initiating new tanks with a minimum of 1-2 fishes before adding more. Patience is key with a reliable water test kit.

This is such a great product for aquarium set ups, at the start up or clean up stage. I've used it to cycle my 3 gallon tank for a single betta. Very convenient to use and quality of aquarium water is clear and clean. I'm using a sponge filter with API Quick Start - I add some to my tank water according to the instructions, every time I clean the aquarium. It's working well for me to date.
