I've used it for big batches of soups, stews, stocks, boiling pasta, and more. It's big enough to can tomatoes or make huge vats of sauce. Yet the overall stockpot is still a manageable size and weight when full. The stainless steel construction feels extremely sturdy and durable. It has an attractive high polished mirror finish. I also really like the thick aluminum disc layered in the bottom which provides excellent heat conduction and prevents hot spots. The pot heats up quickly and evenly thanks to the tri-ply stainless/aluminum/stainless body. It works great on all cooking surfaces including induction cooktops. I've even used it in the oven without issues since it's oven safe. The snug-fitting vented glass lid is a nice bonus to lock in heat and moisture. The loop handles are designed to stay cool which is helpful when pulling the heavy pot on and off the stovetop. I still use potholders out of habit. My only minor complaint is the pot itself can get a bit heavy when full of liquid or food. But that's to be expected for a stockpot this size. I honestly was expecting something of lesser quality than the price suggested. The quality was clearly there (my other pots are All-Clad D3, Le Creuset, Staub). The polish, weight and fit of the lid were perfect, and the glass lid unexpectedly fit my huge all-clad saute pan, woo-hoo!. The handles were not as heavy duty as my other brands, but definitely enough to handle the load full pot. It heated at a reasonable speed on my induction burners (not like a single thickness pot--which would translate into scorching) and transferred the heat evenly to the contents based on my observations. I needed something huge for VERY occasional use, and did not want to invest in my usual brands, so this was PERFECT. I was willing to settle a bit b/c my use for this was infrequent, but I am truly pleased with this choice. The only negative I can think of (and it's a small one overall) is that on the OUTSIDE of the pot where the sides turn into the bottom, there is a small ridge--maybe a millimeter or two. This might mean a sauce dripping down the sides could catch there and take an extra minute to clean, but sauce dripping all the way down such a TALL pot unnoticed seems like a rare occurrence to me...
