Chatterblocks Add-On Set - Made in USA

I got these blocks as a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law who goes to a lot of effort to decorate their house for all occasions, especially holidays. She also likes to put up uplifting thoughts, etc., on the refrigerator door and other happy things throughout the house. I thought these blocks would be a great way for her to put up whatever she might like to say, whenever. I was a little bit surprised at how big the blocks were, so do check the dimensions so you'll know what to expect.These blocks are definitely quality items and not cheap, made-in-some-other-country junk. The printing on them is clear and looks quite permanent. The wood is nicely finished and very solid. I think they would be a perfect gift for just about anyone, including children who could stack them and build towers with them, and for adults who enjoy sharing nice thoughts with family members. The only caveat would be that for very young children, they would make great weapons for conking another kid (or the dog) on the head. However, at least there's no danger of these blocks being swallowed!I got the Add-On set because it has great symbols and also numbers and extra letters.BTW, these exact blocks are for sale elsewhere on the web, but Amazon's prices were the best. They also arrived super quick, although I did think they could have been packed better. The box was almost all the way open on one side. They had put some bubble wrap in the box, but it probably should have taped around the blocks instead of just placed in the box. And it needed quite a bit more bubble wrap than they put in. The blocks are quite substantial, and I think they just got knocked around during shipping, and the tape wasn't up to holding the box together with those blocks slamming around inside. Still, they arrived in perfect condition.

I got the Chatterblocks main set so I had to get this set to go with it. To me, this set was not done with the care that the larger set was done with. I understand colors and stain not being exactly right because this is rustic and hand-made. Ok what I don't get is that my sun had a BIG smudge--drip down the side of it. Also some of the graphics seemed to be put on crooked and the jack-o-lantern was placed really low on the block. I think whoever is doing quality control here needs to be fired! That being said, I still want these, poor quality or not, because they complete my set and I can use numbers for important dates, plus the little pictures will add to my sayings--just wish more care had been taken. For the record: there is a bunny, snowflake, smiley face, pine tree, party hat with balloons and streamers, turkey, plus sign, sun, menorah, American flag, flying angel with trumpet, and jack-o-lantern.

I love the idea of these blocks but was disappointed when they arrived - they are black font - not red as shown. I also ordered the letter blocks and was sad to find that the wood on these blocks is lighter than the letter blocks.

We have been using them with the main set & have really liked being able to spell cute sayings & such. I was a little disappointed in the finish & the depth of the color of the numbers & pictures. Many are not even & look like the color has been rubbed off or not put on properly.

I was gifted the chatter blocks and when I saw these I was so excited. I particularly like to use the pictures as spaces in-between words. Love them!

I am not happy with the paint and quality of this set-- I am still waiting on a replacement block !! THe holiday block which had the American flag , a bunny and 2 other designs was not even legible . I am still waiting to receive the replacement block.
