The best feature of this pack is the trampoline-style suspension system. This system keeps the pack away from the body, allowing air to circulate through the mesh and padded support. It also prevents objects in the pack from poking the user in the back. This kind of suspension is really needed for biking and vigorous hiking--otherwise the pack acts like a blanket and overheats the user. Some packs feature air channels between the support pads, but most of the pack is still in direct contact with the user with no real air circulation. The hip belt is also a great feature. Instead of putting weight on the lumbar area of the back, as many small packs do, this pack distributes the weight evenly over the hip area.On the downside, the pack's fabric is not rip-stop denier nylon, nor is it woven to be waterproof, such as gore-tex fabric. I am not sure about the rain cover. I presume it was sprayed with a water-proof chemical. If so, these chemicals can be toxic. The pack did not have any strong odors, so I am hoping it will be OK inside of tents and hotel rooms on my travels. The pack is supposed to hold 40 liters. Unfortunately, the lower pocket is designed to expand into the main compartment, decreasing the space available there. The rain-cover pocket also takes up some room. This means the main compartment is actually equivalent to a smaller pack--I would guess about 35 liters. Finally, the center pocket is really narrow--barely room for 2 small paperback books--which is really a shame. This pocket could have been twice the width.In short, if you need a lightweight pack with a great suspension system for some serious biking or hiking, this pack fits the bill. There are better options out there for those who want a roomier pack for short excursions around town.

The bag itself felt nice and sturdy, and the suspension system felt good. The problem is that it's nowhere near a 40L capacity as advertised and marked. It appeared to be more like 30L, and I was actually able to pack more than this held in a different 30L bag. The pockets are a nice organizational feature, but they do reduce the capacity.If you're looking for a nice 25-30L pack with organizational pockets, this is a good option. If you need a 40L capacity pack, look elsewhere.This did not meet my needs, and I returned it.

I have had this backpack for a year and the zipper has broke away from the main material.Not to mention the zipper it's self had completely broke apart. Bought one at Wal Mart for 1/2 the price and very much satisfied!! Good luck with this!!

Love this backpack! Great for day hikes and the rain shield keeps everything dry. Sits nicely on my hips and doesn't hurt my back or shoulders.
