OCTOMASK - Scuba Mask w/ Mount for All GoPro Hero Cameras for Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Freediving

I had tried the frameless mask previously for snorkeling and it didn't fit me very well, causing pain between my eyebrows so returned it. But because of the convenience of having the gopro mount and getting back into diving recently, I decided to give their frame mask a try. Definitely a better shape for my face, no pain or pressure between my eyes, so that is a huge improvement. The camera mount screw is aluminum and the threads are clean and it is easy to tighten and loosen with a gloved hand, major plus. The silicone is soft and conforms well to my cheeks and especially my nose, since I have a mustache that has been a problem with other dive masks but this one was able to keep leaks to a minimum without shaving or using vaseline etc. The glass is tempered and clear, and hasn't fogged since I used the lighter method and toothpaste, so all in all it performs very well and I look forward to filming more dives with it! Update 12/6/2017: I am updating this review from when I originally purchased this a few months back. I am going to give this 4 stars because: 1) Great customer service: They sent me 2 masks for free and an apology for the issues i encountered. This company genuinely wants to send out a good product and make sure the mask is of quality and cares about the customers. 2) They updated the design: The big problem was the latch that held the strap to the mask failing. It looks like they updated the design similar to my TUSA mask. A lot more sturdy and secure. I attached extra pics showing the new latch. I will update my review when I test it out during my next dives. I have tried it on and the only issue i can see for now is there can be some pressure on the temple area compared to my other mask. But I would definitely give this a try, especially since they improved the design, the customer service is great, and is fairly comfortable for the most part. Original Review: Initially when I tried this mask on, I noticed that there is not enough cushion in the forehead. This was especially more so when you mount a go pro onto it (I use a HERO Session). About 5-10 minutes into wearing it, I started getting pain in the forehead area, giving me a headache. Upon comparison with my current mask (TUSA Freedom Ceos), I felt a big difference in comfort. I also noticed that the go pro itself did not stay put and could easily rotate, no matter how hard i tightened. Believe it or not, that wasn't even the issue for me. As I was on the dock just about to go on my dive, the strap came loose and fell on the ground. I notice that the clip at the end of the strap was disconnected from the clip on the mask. When I tried to reconnect it together, it clips just slid off between each other. This is a very flawed design for connecting the strap to the mask itself, as it does not securely lock into place. This thing did not even make it on one dive. I am so upset, but so grateful this happened before I was in the water. This could have been a huge issue if I was 100+ feet deep with a go pro mounted onto it. Not only would I have lost my go pro and had to end my dive early... it would have been a huge safety issue. I am writing this as a warning to anyone considering purchasing this product. As a diver, I would stay away from this product at all costs. Not worth risking your dive or your life with. You would probably be better off mounting it with the headstrap, or mounting it somewhere else like your BCD or wrist.

Got it for my 14 year old granddaughter, and she loved it. It's very sturdy, and fit her perfectly.

Leaks in multiple locations. Worst experience I've had with a mask. Fits poorly. Nose cup fills with water. Salt water in the eyes. Not fun. Purchased for the gopro mount. The mount has manufacturing issues. The mounted retaining nut recess isn't smooth so the nut sits at a slight angle causing the retaining screw to cross thread. Arrived cross threaded (damaged). The softer aluminum of the retaining screws handle (thumb screw) loosens before the cross threaded nut. Used lock-tight as a temporary fix on the thumb screw end. Still have to push the entire screw through the mount to eject the retaining nut from the recess in the mount in order to screw it on correctly. This is a delicate process; you would not want to do in the water or on a boat. Not happy with this product. Would not recommend and would not buy again.

I bought the Octomask for a weeklong trip on a liveaboard. I used it for the first several dives but then switched back to holding the Gopro in my hand. The Octomask works great -- exactly as advertised. It fits well and did not leak. The strap seems a little flimsy but does hold the mask in place OK. I made sure to be holding my mask when entering the water. Going going through the lengthy resulting video to find the interesting clips is a tedious process. I found that holding the Gopro equipped with an lcd bacpac in hand was a much more useful way of creating interesting video as you have control over what the Gopro is is doing. You can turn the video on for the interesting parts of the dive and frame the shots much better. You can also use the Gopro to take still shots. A red filter is essential for underwater use. I use the Backscatter Flip3 Underwater Color Correction Filter and it works great.

Very hard to find except online, a perfect way to film underwater.

全く問題なく使用できています。ゴープロマウントの不具合等なし、マスクも全く問題なし。これからどんどん使用して行こうと思います。撮影についてですが、個人差によってゴープロ本体を傾けたりしながら調整は必要だと思います。

I used this for a live-aboard dive trip to the Great Barrier Reef. As long as I positioned the maiskcarefully, wearing it slightly lower than I normally would wear a mask, it fitted fined with no leaks. The ability to fit the GoPro to the mask was also good - a lot better and more stable than the head harnesses that some of the other divers were using. I'd suggest getting the red filter as it made the colours a lot more natural. On the downside, try not to look upwards while filming as the position of the camera means that a lot of your exhaust bubbles will rise up in front of the camera and obscure its view. I will be looking on Amazon to find a piece of kit that I can use to hold the camera a few inches in front of my face to try to avoid this problem in future.

Ottimo prodotto la gomma è un po' morbida ma rimane comunque aderente ai lineamenti del viso. Si comporta bene in tutte le situazioni. Unica attenzione alle bolle dell' erogatore in assenza di corrente. Godetevi l'immersione con le mani libere.
