Fantastic
Love these. Got them to go on top of the Home Depot's "Let's Do this" orange buckets (saw a previous reviewer's pics and cracked up), to deal with power outs. These are MUCH better than those folding things--no risk of collapsing at an unfortunate moment into an unfortunate pile of unhygienic fun.Possible helpful hints for the new emergency toilet user:When you pick out a 5 gallon bucket, be sure and look at the 'mouth' and see if it is actually round. Yep, quality control can miss and oval deformations are not going to be helpful to you. While you are doing this, make sure there are no cracks in the bucket from mishandling. Seriously. The first time you put it together is going to be hard/er--because the plastic parts haven't had time to shape around each other. So, before you need the thing, put it together. It helps that first time to lay the seat upside down (the underside facing you), so you can see what you're doing when you fit the bucket on top of it and press it into place (you should hear clicks or feel it fit together solidly). Don't worry, the lid is between the seat the the floor. And there is always disinfectant wipes. The first fitting/take off is stiff and not so easy, don't worry you can make it easier by following the next suggestion.Once you put it together properly (make sure!), then I recommend LEAVING it that way for a good 3 or 4 months (summer is awesome because the heat helps the process go faster)--this lets the plastic parts shape to each other slowly. THIS makes getting it on and off later MUCH easier. Speaking from experience here. MUCH easier.Use kitty litter. This absorbs urine and really kills the smell. Leave the lid down to help--and to keep bugs, etc. out.Use standard white kitchen trash bags--quality ones or there may be leakage in the bucket. If you get a defective bag and it leaks, don't worry--the bucket is easy to sanitize. Lysol wipes are your friend, though you can always take it outside and use a hose and soap.If you have the space, store your bucket all set up for use (keep a gallon zippy bag with kitty litter inside, if you will remember to remove it later before using it). You can also store hand sanitizer and TP in another zippy bag inside it.When you are ready to use it (IE: power out or something), put the ready to be used setup in your bathroom--put the kitty litter next to it, as well as the hand sanitizer and TP. If you have getting back up concerns, put it by your regular closed toilet, tub edge, counter, or if you have a walk in shower by the grab bar. Or get a bucket that is taller (IE: 6-8 gallons--take the lid with you for testing fit). We've never had any slip concerns as our floors are tile and we sit down and get back up carefully. Might want to explain that to kids, so they don't 'plop' down or jet off. Little kids will need an adult to help them on and off, like a regular toilet, and I'd stay with them just to be safe--though if you have a training potty already, you can just use that instead.Hope this helps.

Perfect for two reasons
Bought a 1900 house and it was obvious the plumbing would need care.As a backup, this lid is on a five-gallon bucket is lined with a plastic bag. A few. This way, use one. Tie off. To the trash. Next is ready to go.Came in handy when the plumber needed to auger the system.During covid closings a parent died across the country. My Jeep doesn't have a back seat because I need the extra space for the German Shepherd to be comfy. Plus, for project hauls from hardware stores, etc.Anyhow, this toilet system worked fantastic during the cross-country drive.Find a place away from main traffic but close to safety. The Jeep is big enough I can use it in the back or boondocking someplace. Which did happen on the same trip returning. Stopped to help a friend in the Tennesee wilderness.Anyhow, use the pot. Wrap the bag. Drop at the gas station while filling up.This saved a lot of time, too.In case you're wondering, for food. Dried products. Amazing Grass Superfood wheatgrass flavors. For caffeine use their Watermelon with caffeine built into the fruit.Usually bake high protein goodness. This one time, baked eggs with all sorts of ingredients. Wrapped in aluminum foil inside an organic tortilla.Turn the defroster on high. Pull a foil-wrapped tortilla from the portable fridge cooler. (bought this at Aldi but can find one here. Plug into the charging outlet while driving).Put the tortilla on the dash over the hot air. If you let it sit out to room temp it'll heat more evenly quickly.Tasty high protein meal anytime.Another trick, for milk and cereal while driving. Portable organic milk. Or, soy. Eat cereal. Drink milk. Or, vise verse.I save a few hours this way.Another recommendation, to run the dog use a frisbee. We buy Kong’s.In between trips and plumbing trials tho makes for a nice trash bucket. Or, dog poop clean upon the back yard. Use the bag to line. Dump weekly.Bet you weren't expecting all this under the heading toilet seat :)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯
