Orange is the new White – Our New Activated Alumina Media is coated with iron and is orange in color. The new CFF25-10 filters better over a broader pH range! Produces cleaner, better tasting water. Removes up to 93-percent of fluoride, and up to 98-percent of chlorine, chemicals, VOCs, pesticides, herbicides, foul tastes and odors. For chloramine removal, consider model# CFF2E-10. This 5-micron multi-stage coconut shell granular activated carbon and activated alumina filter uses channel blockers to ensure uniform filtration without channeling or dumping. Packed tight – this Home Master purple filter canister is packed full of media, to provide the very best performance, the longest life, and the best value for your dollar. Settling may occur – media fines (orange, white or black) may be visible on the inlet pad due to the media settling. This will flush out during installation. Please change the O-ring periodically to ensure a watertight seal. The O-ring is located between the cannister and the sump and is sold separately. **Q: Does this filter fit on the regular non-elite model?**
A: Yes. Just installed one of these on mine.

**Q: Am I the only one who cant figure out how to open the devise to install the filter?? thanks**
A: I am sorry you are having some trouble opening the housing. Please note that the system is hand tightened when originally assembled at the factory, not machine tightened. If too much time passes between filter changes, sticky gunk can accumulate.  Many customers find success by soaking the unit in hot water for a few minutes or using a couple of those rubber gripper mats that people use to unscrew stubborn pickle jars to increase their grip.
If you prefer to use a wrench please use 2 - “strap wrenches” turning in opposing directions, but you’ll first need to remove the inlet and outlet elbows to avoid cracking them.  Using 1 wrench will not help since there is nothing to brace it against.
Alternatively, if you are really having difficulty please send it to us to service at no extra charge. We only ask that you buy a replacement filter from us at the regular retail price.

**Q: will this cartridge work in a sears under the counter type water filter?**
A: If the sears unit accepts standard 10" filters, then yes. Please remember to change the orings and clean the cannister housings per Sear's Owner's Manual.
