SPD cleats
On time and as expected. Reasonable price. Works with my SPD pedals.

Easy out
Someone said they wish they were cheaper than 18.00. I bought my pair of 56s back in 2012 for 17.00. Pretty good price considering they have only gone up $1.00 in 13 hrs. Also others have said they are only good for beginners. I too bought mine as a beginner but now use them on both mtb & road bikes. 56s twist to get out left or right but not as other have said by lifting up on your heel. I ride out of the saddle often on both bikes and have NEVER come unclipped

Great all riders
Someone once told me these were for beginners and uncoordinated people. Well 10 years later I'm an expert MTB rider and have worn these for tens of thousands of miles. I never unclip accidentally. I always unclip when I want or need to. I ride technical trails and jumps as well as hundreds of miles on gravel with these. No issue.I think these might be better for people with smaller feet and less leg strength, especially women, who don't have the same lever strength as someone with big feet. I'm 5-1, 130 lbs, and wear a women's size 7 shoe.

Psychic cleats
I'm with the guy who said these things basically read your mind. Those new to clipless should look at nothing else, and pair them with an appropriate Shimano pedal with adjustable release tension. At low tension with XT pedals (the ones with the tiny metal platforms), these WILL unclip in a wreck. Even a hard pull straight up to throw your leg out and catch yourself will lead to an 'unintentional' (but very welcome) release. I have only fallen over in one scenario: getting stopped in relatively level rock gardens, where I didn't have the clearance to unclip normally, nor the amount of inertia and/or panic to make the mentioned 'psychic release.'I have had one or two unplanned releases from hard rock strikes, which, again, just kinda goes with the 'psychic' vibe. Like the cleats were just saying 'hey, that could've made you wreck, here's a foot if you need it.' LOL. I just clip back in and keep pedaling. I suspect as higher tensions, this would not be an issue. The alternative Shimano cleats will hold you in better, but the float doesn't feel as good, the release is less fluid, and I would be more concerned about not releasing in a wreck. Also, you won't a chance to experience one of my coolest MTB moments in recent memory: losing grip in a turn, kicking out a foot and moto'ing, then flawlessly clipping right back in. Without even thinking about it. As a newer clipless rider, that blew my mind.

Solid cleat, wish it was cheaper
$18 seems a lot for a few small pieces of metal. Not exactly intricate or super high tolerances... but what are you going to do?Got them, they work fine as expected. If you dont know what you are doing, watch some videos on the best place to put this on your shoe as there are several adjustments to make if you dont want to hurt your foot/knee/hip. True with ALL cleats so dont think its this one. Also, at least when I installed them into some Shimano shoes, you need to REALLY tighten it down. Go back and forth tightening the left then the right back and forth. HARD. If you dont, they will just rotate on you, but you will still be clipped in.

Shimano SM-SH56 cleat set
This is a very good cleat set. I am not a pro bike racer and have a great fear that I will get caught up in my cleats and fall in front of a car and die. I am a novice biker that moved to cleats when I found that the bike I bought really wouldn't work to its fullest if I didn't also use them with clipless pedals. If you are really that afraid of crashes, then I would suggest not getting pedals requiring any kind of cleat. That's probably safest.I bought these cleats to replace the ones that came with my shoes to give me greater options of getting my clipped shoe released from my pedal when I need to. No, they are not as escape ready as having pedals that don't need shoe with cleats at all, but if want the advantages that cleated pedal bike riding can give you, my opinion is that these are better than the cleats that only allow you to get released by only moving the back of your foot outwards. These cleats allow you to get your shoe released by moving your heel either inwards or outwards. I have my cleat release set to a very low resistence level so that they will pop out with very little effort. Maybe that isnt the best for racers, and I guess could be in fact more dangerous in that they could release your shoe when you don't want your shoe released, but in my experience so far I haven't had any issues of the cleat releasing when I was pedaling just straight on.

Are these really Shimano?
Cleat was easy to install and looked to be branded and similar to other Shimano clips I have. However the metal seems to be a little bit softer? Possibly old stock for the box as well? I ended changing them back out because they had way to much freedom of movement and would have to turn my foot almost 45 degrees to the pedal to get them to release. This in combination with the wear after only 2 or 3 clip ins I decided to go back to my old set and get a different style.

Great Clipless cleat!
I have never used a clip type shoe or pedal before. I got a pair of Tommaso bike shoes that came with cleats, I put them on and tried to "clip in" with the pedals. I tried to adjust the cleats on the shoes and the pedal , but the were still hard to "clip out". I saw these multi-directional cleats, ordered, them, received them, installed them on my shoes, grabbed my helmet and off I went. I clipped in the very first time and was amazed at how easy they were to clip out of. The pedal tension was set perfect as I never unclipped on steep incline, but was able to release them with ease when I had to stop. I was very hesitant to take the plunge and go clipless, but I am sure glad I did and these cleats work perfect for me as a beginner. Did a 14 mile ride around town the same day I got these cleats and had to stop at a lot of crossings and not once did I have an issue with getting them to release. I am pleased beyond belief. I am 6'2 and 230 lbs with a size 13 shoe.
