Big Horn 19630 Drill Press Vise Clamp

First, the quality of this piece is just fine, maide in Taiwan but the materials and finish are what you would expect, no complaints there. My issue is the thread size. Mine came with some oddball 1/2-12 thread pitch that doesn't exist anywhere but with this tool apparently, so if you plan to buy a t-slot nut or any other nut besides the loop nut that it came with you are SOL. In my opinion there is no reason to make up a new thread pitch just for this tool. At first I thought it was metric but when it turned out to be the pitch of a 9/16" bolt with the diameter of a 1/2" bolt I was pretty disappointed. Good luck.

Not so great. The circular nut that threads on to the bolt was very very very wobbly. It does not thread evenly and therefore does not sit flush when seated against a welding tables underside or anything else. I am getting a little wary of buying stuff on Amazon. You can buy some real junk on here that sure does look good in a photo. Most of the inferior tools I have purchased were Chinese made, sorry China a lot of your manufacturing is pretty pathetic........I wish everything in the world was made in Germany. I purchased this Big Horn 19630 Drill Press Vise Clamp to secure my vise to my drill press. It's performed well every time that I've used it (about 12 hours of usage so far).The clamping force is pretty decent. However, it won't give you the same results as a C-clamp. The finish of it are nothing to write home about. It's just your run-of-the-mill, standard fit/finish.If you're looking for a drill press vise clamp for light to medium duty jobs, with no frills attached, I'd recommend this. I'll probably pick up another one of these in the future.

This is a big time saver... much quicker than having to position a clamp and lock it down. The only problem I had is that the round "wing-nut" that you tighten under the drill press surface interfered with the steel webbing. I had to insert a small spacer (used a half-inch nut) between the wing-nut and the bottom of the plate so the wing-nut wouldn't hit the webbing. I used it to drill metal plate and it held really well. It would probably accommodate up to half-inch plate.

I really like the way this holds matterial in place on my drill press. They are not finished the best but for stuff that I do in my workshop they are just the ticket. Would recomend them for the home handiman, but probably would look at something a little better and pricier for a real machinist.

This tool is made of stamped, folded steel, which is not uncommon in these things, but it is certainly not something that your grandchildren are going to be bugging you to leave them in your will. The little articulating pad on the business end is a nice feature.

For years I had gotten by with using various clamping schemes to hold down items in my drill press. Some worked OK, others, well, not so much.This clamp works brilliantly, and the price is right. It's not the absolute finest quality finish but is plenty rugged and with the wide tip doesn't need a lot of force to hold a part firmly in place.

Perfect for the welding table and/or drill press. It snugs up to the table securely and locks down your work tightly.
