## Questions & Answers

**Q: What year was this edition released?**
A: It was published this year, 2018

**Q: How many cards?**
A: Steve Jackson Games Illuminati 2nd Edition: Includes rules, 110 cards, 8 giant-sized reference cards, 2 sheets of money counters, and 2 dice.

**Q: How many cards?**
A: There are 110 cards total in the game.

**Q: I see two versions of this game here on Amazon. Which will give me the better (more fun) experience?**
A: As of 2020, the cultural references are a good bit less dated in the current version: the older one is basically 80s-era. But that's just chrome -- and subordinate chrome at that; general conspiracy zaniness is more dominant. The play experience of the two is not significantly different.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Game

Still one of my all time favorite card games. If you're from the new land of "living card games" like Arkham Horror and such, note that Illuminati is much, much simpler than those. This is not a hyper complex RPG simulator using three hundred cards that cover a dozen different game mechanics. It's a very straightforward game where you build networks of factions (like convenience stores, or California) to create your Illuminated empire. It's kind of like playing a political cartoon. Most games of Illuminati are going to take an hour, maybe an hour an a half, so you don't have to commit an entire evening it, like you do many of its larger descendants in the card game universe.
