Caterpillars & Butterflies
Caterpillars and butterflies is a well done and engaging book. Each page has beautiful pictures and easy to read text. The layout of the book is well thought out with a table of contents, glossary and index. There is a lot of information packed into this book. Starting with an egg and caterpillars, you learn about the different parts of a caterpillars body and how it uses them for protection, moving, eating, etc. You learn similar information about butterflies as well as seeing examples of several species on each page.

excellent introduction to the butterfly life cycle
I was looking for an early reader book to use in my infant class who have a butterfly garden [from Insect Lore]. This little book is packed full of useful and interesting facts as well as many beautiful pictures. My class of children love it and it has encouraged one child who has struggled with reading to use books for the first time. As our caterpillars are growing, the children are regularly searching for information in this beginners book, so the contents page and glossary are useful as are some of the websites recommended [ I haven't tried all the links yet]. I will be buying others in the series to build up a set of non fiction books and highly recommend it for use at home or school.

Lovey pictures for younger children
Brilliant little book that explains the life cycles of the butterfly with lovely clear bright pictures, bought as part of a birthday present for a insect mad little boy who loves it. Highly reccomend for little ones although my 7 year old though she was a bit big for it.
