It will do the job, but not very well. It takes 3 times as long to get the pressure up as it does on my kitchen stove. It only works on high **Q: Can you use a cast iron skillet on this burner?** A: I checked the instructions. It only says do not use PLASTIV dishes. I imagine cast iron would be fine. **Q: How much weight will it hold, can it hold a large, full canner?** A: WE DO NOT SUGGEST USING A CANNER WITH THIS PRODUCT.
