This book contains much more than I, myself, would ever use, as I would never attempt to sew a bowel, artery and other such level of things. If what you are wanting is something to teach the tools, techniques and how to place & hold surgical instruments for suturing torn or cut muscle and skin, this one does it. A great read for the "ROUGH" camping set. The techniques shown in this book could just save a life by keeping it all, "together" until a medical facility can be reached.

Must have for medical students

this book only teaches you how to tie various surgical knots for sutures, not how to perform any surgical procedures as the title suggests. Even for suturing, it does not show you how to completely do it. this book covers a very, very limited field of study and contains terminology only understood by surgeons, not ordinary people.

Good book for basic skills, it explain very well the technique, different kind of knots, I am pleased with this item
