How does this handle pressure in an hvac system?

Thanks for the question! Both our Smart Vents and Pucks use pressure sensors to understand external static pressure changes imparted by opening and closing vents throughout your home HVAC system. In fact, this makes a system like ours safer than manual vents that homeowners commonly open and close. Not only do we use pressure sensors to understand changes to pressure, but we also do not ever close more than 1/3 of vents in a system. This has shown to be safe by a Lawrence Berkeley National Labs study. To go further, we used a 100% safety margin over their conclusions.

Do you not have a lower cost solution to take the place of the Flair Puck for each room?? This is an expensive upgrade!!

If you integrate an ecobee or Honeywell WiFi-connected smart thermostat, Flair can read temperature from their remote sensors. Keep in mind that a Flair home will need at least one Puck configured as a Gateway and plugged into AC power using the supplied cable and adapter. You may need additional Flair Pucks for large systems (greater than 11 Flair devices) or to propagate the RF (radio frequency) signals in the home to all Smart Vents.

When the vents close when a temperate is reached in one room, will you hear the pressure like you do on manual vent louvers?

Just installed in a guest bedroom. It does “squeal” (for lack of a better word) when the vent is closed and air is on. It’s louder than I would have liked but we’ll see if my guests complain.

Is there a value pack? Iike 3 pucks and 6 registers?
