Better than the stuff at the big box home improvement stores.
This is not a 'cheap' water sprinkler but upon reading reviews I decided to spend more to start and hope it was worth it. At the same time as I made this purchase I picked up two $9 sprinklers at the big blue home improvement store after just two months I can report the Rain Bird is the only one still performing perfectly. The quality of build is better than the price might suggest with proper metal spike, brass coupling with a stainless inlet screen something all sprinklers should have while sadly most will not. The range of motion, distance achieved and capability to quickly adjust pattern makes this the clear choice for a yard lawn watering duties (or garden if you place on pole or tripod). I would love to have two more of these and when I can afford them this will be my choice. Wish I could have my money back wasted on the $9 Orbits, because Rain Bird is the best.

Very Nice Impact Sprinkler!
Very happy with the purchase of this Rain Bird Sprinkler! Iโve used other branded sprinklers for years and some worked ok and some not very well. We have a well water system so our pressure does fluctuate and I run 2 sprinkler heads together that use 100โ of 5/8โ hose. These Rain Bird Impact Sprinklers throw out a great amount of water and have not suffered when the water pressure briefly is reduced until the reservoir tank pump kicks in. They truly can throw out water 40โ.

Perfect for Our Lawn Watering
We live in a townhouse in a complex and we have a small, private lawn that is our personal property. The association mows our lawn on a varying schedule, so we need a sprinkler that would not be in the mower's way. This sprinkler did the trick. We placed the sprinkler at the corner of our unit on the outside perimeter of the grass, and set the arc of the spray to cover our property. This sprinkler does a perfect job - our lawn is thick and green. Set up was easy! We now have the sprinkler on a schedule with a Smart timer (also purchased on Amazon) and can control it from anywhere.

Okay, but distance adjustment is poor
Overall, itโs a sprinkler and does what it says. As mentioned by others, the distance adjustment on this relies on an allegedly elliptical knob on the top. I found this to have no effect. My solution was to wedge a thin piece of cardboard between that knob and the deflector, which also helped coverage on the areas closer to the sprinkler. Also, it โleaksโ a lot of water down the stake, so make sure to push it down firmly or the dirt will get soft and it will drift.

Time for an upgrade!
Great alternative to an underground sprinkler system without the need to dig a trench and at a fraction of the cost. I have been using these for almost a month. I've installed two in my front and two in the backyard. The water pressure at my house is decent enough to use two at once. Being that it can rotate at a very wide angle, your coverage is very adequate. The side splash prevention isn't as perfect as Rainbird claims and it still hits the sidewalk or driveway but it's not that bad. The impact sprinkler is easy to use and versatile. Easy to connect to the hose to the metal spike and the spike itself inserts to the Arizona clay soil very easily (it rained a few days prior to installation which is probably why it was easier to plant the spike). This was a major upgrade compared to an oscillating sprinkler with a fixed range and lots of water mist being carried away by the wind, which wastes water. The impact sprinkler delivers a strong stream with fat rain droplets. The only considerable con would be that it's a bit loud since it's an impact sprinkler but I don't mind it at all since I don't hear it from inside. Although this may seem expensive buying them at $20 per sprinkler, it's very worth the cost. If the sprinklers break, you can just buy the actual sprinkler and replace the old one and keep the spike. I'm glad I gave this a try! Hopefully they'll last a while.

Great sprinkler while it lasted
This sprinkler worked great for a season before the impact lever snapped at some point in storage and now it won't rotate while spraying. The metal spike is sturdy enough but the functional mechanisms are mostly plastic, rendering this useless if one of them goes out. Sad to have to shop for another one after 10 hours of use.

Great sprinkler find
Best sprinkler I've seen in years. Lots of junk out there. Plastic heads for minimal corrosion and beefy carriers with stay put spikes.

Pass on these.
Well, I really wanted to love these. It would make my life so much easier than having to hand water my half dead yard. But, they don't work well. There's no spray pattern, it's simply a stream that shoots out too far.. If you want a nice ring of wet grass, then these will work for you.. Otherwise, pass.. It has two adjustable options for spray height and spray stream.. neither do anything. On the plus side, the stakes are metal and sturdy.. The rotation of the sprinkler is fairly easy to adjust.. Its just the spray pattern..

The best sprinkler.
Hands down the best sprinkler I have used. Lots of adjustments to control watering pattern. I have has multiple neighbours ask me about these units and they have gone and bought the same.

Most reliable sprinkler
I've tried a few different types of sprinklers through the years, and this is the model that I've settled on. The spray is fairly even and consistent, they're reliable, and the impact function never fails (I've had problems with other brands of sprinklers getting stuck). My oldest one is about three years old and it's still going strong.

Shoots far and turns fast!
Overall, I like this sprinkler because shoots far even on my 40 PSI well water pressure tank. It covers a lot of area when I can get it set up properly. The green knob on top that adjusts the distance does not do much and I sometimes have to smack the deflector down to get it to spring up fully so it doesn't block all of the water. The metal base is very solid and can be purchased alone at a cost that makes this sprinkler a good deal. If I ever change the sprinkler, I will keep the base to use with the new one.
