In Poland, the making of decorations with straw dates back to the time when the only available materials for decorations were those that were found on the farm. During the beginning of the Christmas season, village folk would decorate homes creatively and ornately using straw, paper, yarn, and cloth ornaments. This Christmas Straw Star Tree Topper is based on traditional Polish straw tree toppers and is held together by string. The tree topper is an 8-sided star with a smaller star design in the center of red colored straw. The ornament is very different from the majority of modern Christmas decorations, and is a unique addition to any Christmas Tree. Straw products are based on traditional Polish folk designs however, in order to offer them at an affordable price levels, they are manufactured in China.

Pretty Straw stars
These were just what I wanted for a nature themed Christmas tree topper. They really showed up nicely contrasting the dark wood on the walls behind the tree. They attached easily on top of the tree I had, so size was perfect for me. Anyone looking for a different type or more nature themed idea may like these.
