J-B Weld 8281 Professional Size Steel Reinforced Epoxy - Hardener and Steel Pack - 10 oz

Fixing anything is basically doable with JB weld. This is your new best friend, or old friend in my case. I used it a lot in the past, and I always come back to it for any work around the house. Super glue is fine and all that, but this is the real deal. It’s called weld for a reason: it’s tough, reliable, and practically indestructible once it fully cures. Pros: 1- Massive value for big jobs: this is perfect for large-scale projects where those tiny standard tubes just won't cut it. You get enough volume to handle multiple repairs without worrying about running out mid-mix. 2- Industrial strength: once fully cured, it boasts a tensile strength of 5,020 PSI. It’s essentially "liquid steel" that you can drill, tap, file, and sand just like the metal it’s repairing. 3- High temperature tolerance: it can withstand constant temperatures up 287°C, making it ideal for automotive or plumbing repairs that see significant heat. 4- Universal versatility: while it’s famous for metal-to-metal bonding, it works incredibly well on wood, plastic, tile, PVC, and fiberglass. Overall, this is the gold standard for heavy-duty epoxy. It’s industrial-strength, easy to mix, and consistently delivers a permanent bond. If you want a repair that’s "fixed for good," this is the stuff you want in your toolbox.

J-B Weld 8281 arrived intact. There was no tube leakage and when used appeared fresh. The white and black combo gives a grey final product. I was not sure it would bond with my application. I needed to repair a cheap broken valve at the bottom of a 60 gallon rain barrel. The barrel is a slippery brown plastic. I tried heating the plastic and screwing a threaded galvanized pipe nipple into the plastic but it still leaked. The Epoxy is messy to mix, I used a small flat piece of wood to stir components. Takes 24 hours to thoroughly harden but seems very strong and it stuck well to the plastic barrel and galvanized pipe. It is difficult to get a neat bond but I didn't care about that appearance. The rain barrel is now functional with no leaks, very happy. The Epoxy is a bit expensive and when I opened there was a considerable amount of air (perhaps 1/3 of volume) in each tube so there is less product than you think making it more expensive. I also used it on a small concrete frog statue which had the head broken off. It worked well to make that repair as well. These fixes are only several weeks old so I cannot comment on longevity.

JB Weld is the best epoxy I have ever used. I use it all the time for repairs, some that are downright strange. Example: I don't function very well in the AM before coffee, so I accidentally bumped the glass coffee pot for my coffee maker. Made a small crack on the outside of the glass, just above the bottom. So I thought, lets test this: so I applied a small square of JB Weld over the small crack (on the outside of the decanter) about the size of a postage stamp. Let it cure overnight. That was a week ago, and it's doing just fine. I can't believe it...it adhered to the glass and is holding like a crazy man. Saved myself $30+ on a new decanter. I repaired one of my wife's favorite earrings when the small ring that held the dangle broke on one side. Tiny amount of JB on it, let it sit overnight, and gave to her next day. She re-fell in love with me. :) One of the properties it has that I really like is how smooth and easy it is to mix and apply. Many epoxies have thick consistency and are difficult to mix and apply smoothly. JB goes on like warm butter, but dries hard as metal. I'm always using it for something and it's never failed me yet. [8/24 review edit]...Ok, I gotta' tell you about this one! Some idiot swiped the sideview mirror on my car. Did not destroy it, but snapped off part of the plastic edging holding the mirror in. I reset the mirror back properly in the housing, and applied a bead of JB Weld around the perimeter where the plastic edging used to be. Took two coats to build it up to original width. After dry, took a small sanding wheel on my electric drill and smoothed & shaped it. Then I applied one coat of black caliper paint. If you look closely you can see the repair, but so far none of my friends have even noticed. Amazing! Sometime contact your car dealer and see what a sideview mirror costs, you won't believe it!!! Hundreds!$ Weeks later, through hot sun and rainstorms, JB-Weld is holding strong.

I had a broken hinge on a built it gas grill. A new grill cover was over $300. J B Weld to the rescue. The repaired hinge is as good as new. If you look closely you can see the cracks, but overall I'm very satisfied with the ease of use and results of the repair

I have used this for so many applications: worn plastic parts in my front door handle, shoe repair, fixed a crack on the collar of my pool filter and many, many more. I was pretty surprised that it worked so well with that water leak.

Bigger the tube the more projects you find to fix 🙂

Bisher das beste was mir in 30 Jahren (davon 10 als hauptberuflicher Handwerker) in der Produktkategorie untergekommen ist. Alles andere war entweder von der Klebekraft oder -dauer nicht überzeugend. Für schnelle Klebungen aufgrund der Verarbeitungszeit nicht geeignet, hier gibt es andere Produkte des Herstellers wie z.B. Clear Weld. Bisher geklebte Kombinationen/Materialien: - Aluminium auf Glas (Beides angeraut) von 2 Seifenspendern. Hier haben 2 Komponentenkleber von 3 anderen Herstellern nach wenigen Monaten versagt, der längste hielt ca. 9 Monate, der Kleber vom Hersteller knapp 4 Jahre. Aktuell hält der Kleber seit 5 Jahren. Möglich, dass hier das Problem die permanente Feuchtigkeit ist. Diesen Kleber interessiert das anscheinend nicht. - Holz/Möbelspanplatte: Hier hat durch ein Missgeschick ein mit 2 Schrauben befestigter Winkel großflächig Material ausgebrochen. Der Winkel musste wieder an die selbe Stelle, also musste Material aufgefüllt werden. Lose und lockere Späne entfernt, ausgesaugt, Kleber angerührt, auf eine 2ml Spritze gezogen und zuerst die kleinsten Löcher verfüllt. Anschließend die senkrechte Kante mit Isolierband abgeklebt und mit der Spritze blasenfrei verfüllt. 24h aushärten lassen, danach war das Material so fest, dass ich Löcher vorbohren musste weil die Spax-Schrauben sich nicht selbst eindrehen ließen. Die Garderobe hängt jetzt wieder seit ca. 7 Monaten an Ort und Stelle. Zum Kleber selbst: Verarbeitung: Die Verarbeitung ist einfach. 2 gleich große Stränge nebeneinander legen, sorgfältig vermischen bis die Farbe gleichmäßig ist. Lieber 2 Minuten länger mischen, die Verarbeitungszeit liegt bei 4 Stunden. Endfestigkeit ist nach ca. 24h erreicht. Das Produkt eignet sich also nicht für Ungeduldige. Konsistenz: Nach dem Mischen ist der Kleber so dünnflüssig, dass er sich ohne weiteres auf Spritzen (ohne Kanüle) ziehen lässt, was auch kleinere Klebestellen zulässt. Dies kann gleichzeitig auch ein Nachteil sein, Kleben von senkrechten Stellen führt unweigerlich zum Verlaufen des Klebers. Vorteil der Dünnflüssigkeit: Er verläuft zu waagerechten Oberflächen, was z.B. beim Verfüllen von Löchern extrem praktisch ist so lange man die Menge nicht überdosiert. Nach dem Aushärten ist der Kleber extrem hart. Löcher müssen gebohrt werden. Weder ein Stichel noch neue Spax-Schrauben können sich in das Material einarbeiten, sie kratzen nur an der Oberfläche. Farbe: Vermischt und ausgehärtet ist der Kleber Dunkelgrau, also in den meisten Fällen nicht für sichtbare Stellen geeignet. Haltbarkeit: Der aktuelle Kauf war ein Vorsorgekauf, der Erstkauf (und erste Verwendung) war vor ca. 5 Jahren ein 2x28,4g Gebinde von einem anderen Anbieter, mittlerweile zu 2 Dritteln leer. Letzter Gebrauch vor 7 Monaten, die Konsistenz hat sich in der Zeit nicht verändert, insofern also sehr gute Produkt-Haltbarkeit. Der Hersteller gibt bis zu 15 Jahre an. Vorbereitungen zum Kleben: Sehr glatte Untergründe bereite ich durch anschleifen vor, Schmirgel mit 80er Körnung ist hier ideal. Funktioniert auch bei Glas (hier nehme ich eine 120er Körnung) so lange es kein Sicherheitsglas ist: Den Außenbereich der zu klebenden Stelle großzügig mit Isolierband abkleben und die Klebestelle anrauhen. Zu verklebende Untergründe reinige ich grundsätzlich mehrfach, zuerst mit Glasreiniger, anschließend mit Spiritus. 3 Blätter Küchenrolle haben sich als Reinigungstücher bewährt, erst mit Glasreiniger reinigen, mit separatem Blatt trocken wischen, neues Blatt für den Spiritus, verdunsten lassen, kleben. Schont zwar nicht die Umwelt aber dafür hält die Klebestelle.

Yo empecé a revisar acerca de pegamentos y encotré este que parecía demasiado bueno para ser verdad... Una, verdadera joya! tiene un gris rata horrible y huele aún peor (antes de secarse, después es completamente inodoro), pero si se usa siguiendo las instrucciones y con la proporciones 50/50 es sólido como el acero. Lo he utilizado desde para pegar partes móviles de jugetes, hasta para sellar una tubería picada de cobre y reparar una de PVC, esto tiene cerca de seis meses y no hay ningún rastro de que se afloje o se diluya. Tengan en cuenta que es un pegamento epóxico, no instantaneo; una vez aplicado, toma como 4-6 H. que se empiece a solidificar (aqui todavia se puede ajustar o mover la pieza) a las 24 H. esta completamente solidificado y a las 36 está completamente curado.
