Buy after reading description!
Great product. No issues after 6 months of use. Better than other similar stuff like ruffpad. Great contrast and quality! Read description well though, erased stuff can't be recovered, no save option, etc.

My kids loved it too
Very responsive surface, legible in daylight, a bit less under artificial light at night. Fridge magnets on the back and android app make it a very interesting product. My kids loved it too. However, too thin/flimsy and build quality is issue, my daughter dropped it and it stopped working. A product targeted at kids should be able to take some rough handling.

Don't buy if you are importing it.
The product is good, I would have given 4 star but the button to erase has suddenly stopped working. The product is still under warrant. So, I contacted them and they said since the product was imported to me therefore it doesn't come under warranty.

Helps my Grandmother communicate
We have had a boogie board at our front counter for a number of years to leave quick notes for people. It has worked really well for us and helped us reduce our paper waste. Recently, my Grandmother was diagnosed with throat cancer, and the surgery required will remove her voicebox. In preparing for the future, and how she would communicate (she has never owned a cell phone, and doesn't understand texting), we thought this would be an excellent product for her to use. It's small enough to fit in her purse, she can quickly write down, erase, and rewrite, all without really having to learn new technology. She is very happy that we have found an easy way for her to communicate. I do like this newer version better than the one we keep at our front desk, as it has a place to hold the stylus, and it seems to clear more completely. This may change over time and usage, but for now it is working great!

Jot it all down
This newer version of the Boogie Board offers indeed (as promised by the manufacturer) a better contrast, which enable you to use the Jot app to take a picture and convert the writing into a black/white format on your phone/tablet etc. This is a very handy feature. The writing tablet itself is relatively thin and light so it is easy to carry with you. However, if you do, you have to use some sort of protection (sleeve), because I don't think it will survive travelling in a backpack or other bag without it. I'm not too crazy about the way the stylus is "anchored" with the tablet. It's a bit of a hassle to get it out and you risk dropping it when pushing it too hard out of its socket. Just a minor inconvenience, but on the positive side, it does keep the tablet's surface flat, which is good. So, if you need a handy tool to take quick notes or pass some creative time while waiting for your doctor's appointment etc., this is a good option. The price is okay, but I do think these devices should be sold for less.

Great hardware, poor software and advertising.
Full disclosure; I own and love the Sync. The good: - The pen is fantastic compared to that of the sync, the tip is smaller, the whole thing is lighter, it is great! - The writing surface is crisp, clear and much brighter than the sync The "bad": he website does an awful job at describing what to expect. Coming from the Sync, I love the app. This eWriter purports to have an app that does the same, but at 30% of the cost. It seems reasonable if you can't store on the writer or have the live streaming to a paired device. Well, I got this device, downloaded the "new" app which is a horrific port of a camera application. The auto mode did not work once for me, the manual mode sucked, and then I found out that this was the only way to get your content off the screen. Considering I could take a full-res photo of the unit and then have my phone automatically rasterize the darn thing, I could actually OCR it myself and have done things better. But... the sync already takes care of this without all of the photo steps in the middle. Needless to say this has become of consumerism and an unfortunately mis-marketed piece of technology. It really is just disappointing. If I had known the above before hand and bought it, I'd be super happy. But my expectations were too high for this device.
