Very easy to replace old closure! Good instructions but not needed with a little common sense. Replaced the same unit that lasted 11 years.

Used this to fix our door like new

I have one already that came with the Andersen Storm Door. When a connecting pin to the door got bent and nobody carried a replacement, I just bought another one. The old one looks like oil is slowly seeping through the seals. Keep it around as a backup, since it still worked. Cheap ones are under $20, online or retail. Same ones they been making forever. Replacing this it took me 2 minutes, since I was just doing a swap out. And I'm about a handy as a paraplegic with no hands! There is a little round thumb cog that you can use to adjust the door closing. Sometimes after a while you may need to tweak it, so it will close gently if it's SLAMMING! Not tools required. Perhaps a small pair of pliers if it being a bee-itch. To keep the door open, open the door and press the button. To release it, open the door WIDER and that will unlock it and return to normal.

This matches our storm door and the bottom install was fairly easy. The door had no closer on it when we moved in and some door damage from wind was apparent. Installed this not knowing how it would perform in the wind. It required no adjustment and handles the wind fine. It does close on the fast side, but we’re pretty quick people so we aren’t bothered by that.

I bought this to replace a damaged one on an Anderson storm door. It was an exact match both in size and in color. All I had to do was take out the two pins and swap the part with the damaged one and it was back up and going in less than a minute. Very nice not to have to drill new holes and make the adjustments like you usually have to when you swap this out with a generic one.

Actual Anderson product which is good. However the new cylinder clicks repeatedly each time we open our door and some times the door stop actually catches and leaves the door open requiring us to push the button to release it. Fortunately our old cylinder does still work so the hardware is all we are using.
