I really wanted to like it. Some of the stories and illustrations are good, but not all, and the bad ones really drag the entire book down. A lot of the writing seemed childish to me. I didn't hate it, there is some good work there, but I was expecting better overall.

Women power at its creative best. Each story has intricate fibre
Women power at its creative best. Each story has intricate fibre. Annie Zaidi's graphic story has our bewalled Anarkali as a rebel! The artistes and authors from Australia and India have partnered to make wonderful teamwork. A happy inclusion is their individual takes on how the team worked. Manjula Padmanabhan never disappoints with her two contributions. A good gift especially on March 8th. I have already started and will continue to present this book as it is alive with the pulse with women's writing of today.

I regret buying this book
This book is of,for and by pretentious, entitled special snowflakes. I'm all for a woman's empowerment but these stories gave me the impression that female empowerment and womanhood should be synonymous with misandry. They're feminazi rantings which are vague and make absolutely no sense

Well, this didn't interest me much while reading it.
First of all I loved the illustrations! The first story is a bit different and difficult to grasp. I would say it has elements of fantasy and magical realism. Feminist. The second story : a modern retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. It didn't leave much of an impact. But yes, strong independent female theme.Well... The rest of the stories can wait.

I did eat the sky, and drank the ocean!
Have you ever held a treasure chest in your hand and quivered in anticipation? This book is just like that, with genres coming together and weaving such beautiful, melodious stories, via painted words and speaking pictures that the reader can only be stunned. There are layers upon layers, waiting to be unravelled within each story. There were times, while reading the book where I had to stop and process what I had just read. If you are feeling unsatisfied with the stories or feel a level of superficiality, that maybe because the story might a taunt on the existing structures and reflecting the inverted image of the world. My words won't do much justice because the real treasure lies in reading and experiencing the wonders by yourself. So go treat yourself with this gem.

Some stories are really excellent but some are too difficult to go through
Some stories are really excellent but some are too difficult to go through. But the book successfully captures the essence of feminist utopias and dystopias alternatively.
