PHILIPS BT64A 3 Watt Wireless Bluetooth Portable Speaker (Sky Blue)

This bluetooth speaker is a decent speaker. It has quite decent level of bass at a slight higher volume. Frequency response is quite good even on highest volume. No cracking of sound. Overall quite balanced sound especially considering the tiny size of the speaker. FM volume is relatively higher than bluetooth mode. FM reception is superb. Rarely is there in any disturbance in signal reception - even if its there, just re-position the attached Aux cable and it's done. Bluetooth call function works quite well. microSD card support is also there. But i haven't used it yet. Buttons are also quite good - all the buttons are under rubberized cover. Mode selection function is also quite intelligent. I have seen it to remember the last played FM station when switched on. I think it's battery back up is a little on the lower side. It runs for around 4 hrs after a full charge which is still not that low. Charges to the full level quite fast - takes around 1 hr or so at 1 A charging. Above all it's quite tiny, light weight and looks very cute. Comes with a lanyard which is very useful sometimes to carry along.

Battery is really good2. Sound is decent3. When you hold it in your palm you feel vibrations (positive aspect) of the bass and music4. It looks goodCons:1. You get a little noise from the speaker when the volume is really low, like when your phone volume level is 1 (it bothers me in the night when I just want to listen peaceful music at low volume)2. FM: I was not able to tune FM, I tried couple of times and finally gave up. I know for other users FM worked, but I was not patient enough to tune it.3. Aux port works but I feel that the volume of the speaker goes down when you connect. Please make sure that your Aux port is functional, immediately after your purchase. There are lots of complaints on this area.4. Keys are bit hard to press.------------Verdict:------------Looking at the price range and quality of music from Bluetooth - Go for it!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Product is very good. Decent sound from this mini speaker.However, for the first time I got disappointment from Amazon and Cloudtail. Amazon delivered it quite late than the expectation and Cloudtail delivered a faulty product. Hence deducting one star.The Aux function in this BT Speaker is not working at all. The packaging was not at all acceptable.

Quality is good for the price. I've used a bose blue tooth speaker as well.. So that is my benchmark for this comparison.It's portable and it's really useful. Speakers are powerful enough for a room. But it can be heard throughout a thousand square feet house if the architecture is such that sound can propogate easily throughout.Battery backup is good. But, There is this annoying alert sound that beeps every one minute when the battery is low. That could have been avoided. Spoils the last song you listen to, when the speakers are dying on you. :)Charges pretty quickly. Took some calls with it. Was good. If you have a work desk and you work alone you can take calls that way.

If you want to purchase this speaker please read my review first.I'm a technical expert and recently i got chance to purchase this bluetooth speaker on 11th may.FIRST OF ALL THIS IS AN INDEPENDENT REVIEW AND ALL THE DETAILS AND PARTS OF THIS REVIEW ARE MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS AND HENCE NOT INFLUENCED BY ANY PERSON OR COMPANY.To make my review simple to understand i would like to have it in points, and whereever i give the points that will be out of 10.1. Design and Built Quality (6/10) A. The plastic material of this speaker is a average quality plastic with an unpleasant smell. B. Speaker is lightweight and fits in your palm & pocket easily. C. Buttons are a little stiffer and they could have been made better. D. Coming to the accessories, i didn't get those but after examining friend's i found then very cheap especially Aux cable which even doesn't fit perfectly.2. Features (9/10) A. It has all the features which an ideal bluetooth speaker should have at this price however for upcoming versions we can expect a volume level indicator as volume buttons on this speaker act as secondary for this device, so if we change the volume it is difficult to predict the correct volume level. B. There are different LED lights for each and every mode which is great. C. FM is average in this device so please don't expect any perfect fm because changing to the different channels is tedious as well as unpleasant & not easy due to mid channel noise spectrum. D. If you want a better FM listening experience on the speaker, use your Mobile's fm at speaker mode.3. Sound Quality (Bluetooth 5/10 ; Aux & Micro sd 7/10) & Bass 6/10. A. Sound quality is the portion where this device lags as it fails to deliver a quality sound ( not talking about loudness). B. Loundness of the device is okay but it suffer from highly noise interference due to it's low Signal to Noise Ratio(~58 db) especially in its bluetooth mode, however sound quality in other modes is good than bluetooth mode. Also you can hear scratch and itches during music play which are the main components of noise. C. Sound quality over the distance is good ( only as comapired to the close distance, not overall). D. Bass of this device is okay according to its effort but quality bass is again lacking (not deep) as sometimes it sound like shallow bass device. E. And one last thing that sound at 100% volume is cracking but this is not the issue coz 70% of all the devices falls under this category.4. Battery and Bluetooth (7/10) A. Bluetooth range of this device is very good as described. B. Coming to the battery life it runs around 6-7 hours at 65-75% volume.5. Support and Accessories (9/10) This speaker comes with all the basic required accessories with classic Philips customer care and support.6. Speaker Controls (8/10) A.
