Lovely book
With Halloween around the corner I thought it was time for a spooky read so I settled on Coraline - a book I should have read at least 10yrs ago . Well nevertheless here we are , reviewing a children’s novel that felt soo matured and eye opening for adults themselves. ! Don’t believe me…?? Here are quotes that I read , re-read, pondered over and loved !!“ Because,' she said, 'when you're scared but you still do it anyway, that's brave ““It is astonishing just how much of what we are can be tied to the beds we wake up in in the morning, and it is astonishing how fragile that can be.”Coraline who loves to explore things gets stuck indoors on one rainy day only to discover another house with another set of parents in another world right behind a locked door at her new home ! Who are they and what are their intentions? Will life be the same anymore for the brave courageous and kind hearted Coraline? I loved finding answers to these and I bet you will too.. I went in knowing nothing and really enjoyed it ! This book is quite short and can be read in one sitting but whether you will read it only once in your life is something I doubt cos I definitely see myself re-reading this soonEven though this was a middle grade kind of fantasy I loved the beautiful story and lovely little Coraline herself ! I plan on watching the movie adaption over the weekend.

Better than what I thought
I wasn't really expecting this to be "scary" like other people said, usually, books are not detailed enough to send a chill down your spine. This wasn't a usual book. It's rare that I get so immersed in book if it is not a series but this book pulled me in. This is the 2nd book I read which was written by Neil Gaiman. The story doesn't end instantly or abruptly, like many other books. It was a gradual and satisfactory end. Great book, highly recommended for adults also.

Coraline- Neil Gaiman
Coraline, by Neil Gaiman, is an amazing book, taking you through a journey of love, friendship, mystery, adventure and horror. The delightful descriptions of Neil Gaiman and the wonderful illustrations of Chris Riddall help the reader transfer into Coraline’s world while she faces the hardest challenge she has ever came against. I would recommend this book to 9+ kids and Adults.

Thank God for literacy
Book review- Coraline by Neil Gaiman⠀“Being brave does not mean you are not scared. Being brave means, you are scared, but you choose to act anyway.”⠀These two lines can sum up the theme of “Coraline”. Our lead character is a small girl who’s name was the result of a misspelling by Neil Gaiman.⠀She moves into a new house where there are the odd neighbours- Ms Spink and Ms Forcible and an older man who claimed he was training a mouse circus. She discovers a door in the house which leads her to a realm of an alternate reality...an alternative set of parents. The parents here want to love her but have buttons for eyes. There’s a sarcastic cat who can talk. Coraline discovers that the button-eyed alternate set of parents are evil and have trapped many souls before. Her real set of parents are confined to. Can Coraline rescue the souls?⠀As I read more and discover about Neil Gaiman, I feel the magic he can weave to create a sense of warmth in the reader's heart. The stories are highly non-sensical, but the characters, their emotions and journeys unforgettable. On various occasions, I smiled ear to ear reading the account of Coraline’s journey.⠀Touted to be a children’s book, Coraline leaves adults with much to marvel and ponder. The highest compliment I can pay to Neil Gaiman’s writing is that he inspires me to write; write more and write with simplicity and unabashedly. God bless literacy!

Just wow!
I loved this book! In my opinion, its suitable for all ages so its really interesting to read. Coraline's adventures and The Other Mother's attempts to make her stay are very exciting to read. Some parts just make you go "woah". Coraline must work carefully to save her parents from The Other Mother's grasp and also free the souls of the poor children trapped there. The end gave me chills, when Coraline had to make one last move to escape The Other Mother. I really recommend it!

Wonderful story but received a torn book.
Coraline is a wonderful book for both children and adults alike. It's spooky but very likeable. Coraline's character is quite inspiring and holds a very positive message for young readers. I took one star away cause the book was damaged when I received it.
