Perfect for Quick Setup of DirectTV Portable Dish
If you have a DirectTV SWM dish for camping, this thing is the bomb for a quick set up. After buying two other meters that proved to be useless and sending them back, the 3rd time was a charm. My first try, within a few minutes, I locked in on the 101 satellite and had it tuned as high as the meter would give me. I connected the receiver and boom: 99's and 100's all over the signal strength table. This thing is simple to use for a quick setup. It is a little pricey, but worth it if you have a portable dish for camping.

I was skeptical but this is everything the reviews said it was. We upgraded to a really big camper that came with a REALLY big TV. Tuning in the big HD dish was ruining my camping experience (and wasn't really great for my wife and mines peace of mind). I spend 3 minutes setting up the actual tripod and dish, and a minute locking in the signal. REMEMBER, you have to click through set-up menu and select the option to power the LNB. Best money I ever spent.

DISAPPOINTED
Purchased the Ultra to replace a nearly 15 year old Birdog. The old unit couldn't be updated anymore (serial port) due to equipment capability issues. Meter took a week to arrive shipped via ground. Packaging was very nice and everything was included.Charged the meter and plugged into my home DTV to get accustomed to the new meter. Interestingly, got no lock until I switched satellites & then switched back to 110. Then went to my FTA dish and got no lock on several frequently used satellites.Basically, found that my 15 year old meter fat outperformed this new one. Have returned for a refund. Awful expensive purchase for a one trick pony.

What a machine... it takes me longer ...
What a machine... it takes me longer to setup my dish when camping in my RV than it does to find satellites. Well worth the money. My son works for a satellite tv company and uses it as well ;)
