Hats off to Hayao Miyazaki for creating an unforgettable world. The story of Nausicaa makes us think of the future of our planet and about the role of our lives in shaping the destiny of our present and future world.The story is still relevant today and i think it would remain so in the future also. It was my first experience reading a manga and i thoroughly enjoyed it. The illustrations are very beautiful. I think everyone should read this book. We need more Nausicaa's for our future.

Also includes a 2 sided poster of Nausicaa. I was waiting for so long to get this, and now my wish has came true. It even includes at the end of the book, a guide for all the sound effects used in the manga. Epic.

This is going to be the first Manga I’m going to read. This is not only written by one of the greatest filmmakers ever to walk the earth but also completely illustrated by himself! The box set weighs 3.5 kilos, contains a 2-volume books and a double sided poster. Inside the books are a few full watercolor illustrations. And the rest is great writing, compositions and ink art.

Must buy for any Ghibli fan.

Just buy this masterpiece manga by the legendary director of studio ghibli-Hayao miyazaki. It was more worth it. Just too great about the book.

Bonne alternative à la version en 7 livres séparés, beaucoup plus onéreuse. Si vous savez lire l'anglais et que vous voulez l'histoire intégrale à bon prix, foncez! La reliure et le format coffret sont de qualité. Le poster est assez médiocre, mais quelle importance ? Avoir l'intégrale pour moins de 40 Euros c'est une bonne manne. Récit, bien plus développé que dans la version "film/anime" ; plus violent et sombre aussi. Les livres sont très denses et la dynamique de lecture entre les cases plus lente, et un style très sobre ; moins fluide à lire que les mangas modernes. Ici on se rapproche davantage de la BD à l'ancienne. La narration est un peu confuse par moments, mais la qualité d'illustration et la richesse du récit compensent. Les thématiques du récit telles que la place de l'homme dans son environnement, la fatalité des conflits armés ou même le rôle des religions et des croyances sur les civilisations, sont abordés sous un angle neutre et dénué de manichéisme. Une très bonne oeuvre, plutôt adulte. Good alternative to the more expensive 7 books version. The box set and the bookbinding quality are good. The included poster is kinda "ehh", but who cares ? Having the whole story for less than 40 Euros is a great deal. The story is way more developed in this comics version than its "anime" counterpart. This version is also more violent and darker. The two books are very dense and the transition between frames is more low-paced compared to more modern mangas with dynamic strips. Here the style is more sober and looks like an old fashioned comics. The narrative tend to be a bit foggy from time to time, but the illustration and story are great nonetheless. The best thing this story does is to broach topics such as the place of mankind in the nature, endless conflicts or the importance of religion in human civilizations, in an objective way without falling into the "Disneyish Good vs Evil" cliché. Very good story, more oriented for an adult audience.

Nausciaä ist eine großartige Geschichte. Schon als Film mein liebster von Miyazaki/Gibli, als Manga viel tiefer und umfassender. Und die englische Übersetzung hat viel Lob bekommen. Inhaltlich ist dieses Werk für mich über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Schuber und Buchdeckel dieses Samelbandes sind sehr schön gestaltet, wie man ja sieht. Innen hingegen ist es nur schwarz-weiß, was man in den Produktfotos nicht hätte vorenthalten sollen. Schwarz-weiß oder zumindest einfarbig ist hier zwar die korrekte Darstellung, aber von einem 1100-Seiten-Werk nur den Schuber zu zeigen, wirkt auf mich etwas nach Verheimlichen. Wer es weiß, möchte es dennoch überprüfen (ein anderer, deutscher Sammelband kommt z.B. in Brauntönen, das will man ja vorher wissen), und wer nicht damit rechnet, mag so unnötig enttäuscht werden. Die beiden Bücher wirkten auf mich hochwertig, aber der Druck wirkte auf mich etwas zu blass. Das macht das Bild zwar angenehm unaufdringlich, knallige Bonbon-Farben passen hier nicht, aber im Inneren hätte etwas mehr Kontrast m.E. der Lesbarkeit gut getan. Das ist jedoch nur ein ein erster Eindruck, denn ich konnte mich nicht lange damit beschäftigen, oder gar daran erfreuen, da ich die Bücher zurücksenden musste. Sie wurden leider ohne Polster in einem simplen Pappkarton mit noch weiteren Bestellungen versendet, und diesen Versandkarton hat man unterwegs nicht gut behandelt, er kam ziemlich demoliert an. Der Schuber war der Länge nach zerrissen, was ich noch hätte verschmerzen können, der steht ja nur im Regal rum, aber außerdem war ein Cover in Falten gestaucht und angeknackst. Eine Schande bei einem so schönen Stück. Für den Preis wollte ich diesen Zustand nicht hinnehmen. So musste ich es zurücksenden. Da ich hier wohl nicht der einzige bin, dem diese schönen Teile so lieblos und destruktiv zugestellt wurden, mag ich bei diesem Händler/Versender nicht mehr bestellen. Wer es bestellt, sollte sich außerdem klar machen, was die Klötze wiegen. 550 Seiten in knapp DIN A4 Format sind keine Handlektüre, wenn man nicht sein Hanteltraining ersetzen will. Gesamtgewicht ist angeblich 3,18kg, also rund 1,5kg pro Buch. Und eben als aufgeklapptes Buch, nicht kompakt mit Griff dran, da können die Finger schon lahm werden. Diese Lektüre ist was, für die man sich Zeit und Platz nehmen muss. Die hat sie zweifelsohne verdient.

Sobre a obra: eu conhecia o Miyazaki pelas produções do Studio Ghibli e fiquei muito feliz de ver um dos meus filmes preferidos na forma de mangá. Nausicaa é realmente um primor de qualidade e fica como imortalização do gênio do Miyazaki também nos mangás. Tranquilamente é um dos melhores mangás que eu já li, ele é excelente em vários aspectos: a narrativa é muito bem desenvovida, os personagens são realmente críveis e não caem naqueles clichês de shonen, a arte é muito delicada e maravilhosa, realmente uma obra prima do Miyazaki. Leitura obrigatória! Sobre a edição: a Viz Media caprichou muito nessa edição. A caixa do box é bem resistente e vem com um pôster bem legal. Os dois volumes de capa dura são em um tamanho bem grande para o padrão de mangá, o que é excelente para valorizar os detalhes da arte do Miyazaki, ótima escolha editorial. O papel é muito bom, a gramatura não deixa passar nada de interferência da impressão e tem um tom um pouco amarelado. É a melhor edição de mangá que eu já vi, realmente digna do nome de edição definitiva de luxo. O preço é perfeitamente justo, ainda mais por um produto importado e para quem é fã, vale o investimento. Cincro estrelas é pouco para uma obra dessas!
