Tenda N301 Wireless-N300 Easy Setup Router (White, Not a Modem) - RJ45 (single_band, 100 megabits_per_second)

This company makes hundreds of devices so they are no small fly. Even with the cons I still gave a 5 star due to the price and functionality and if this has any long lasting quality then it would be well worth it. My old linksys/cisco router lasted over a decade even through lightning storms and power problems so I hope this lasts a few years at least..You can download the manual from their website for more information but for some functions has still not been explained or how to use it. Guess that is why you have google search.This is missing an option for disabling web management via wifi. Once someone gains access to your router, they can sit and run a program to brute force crack the router password. But it does have a remote web management where you can specify an IP to manage the router from the internet. This is a problem for guest mode access where they have access to the router via wifi mode. I have had trouble with Trojans trying to brick the router after it gains access from some infected PC's. So here it is either an isolated guest router or a secure internal router but not a mixed one.This also allows you to set up 2 AP/Routers with 2 separate SSID's and their security and you can split the bandwidth between the 2 like using 2 separate routers of 150m each.. You can also set individual MAC address/IP bandwidth but this wont work with open service as you need to know the MAC address/IP before hand, so guests cant be allowed to use the router with low bandwidth mode etc but you can share the bandwidth with your friends and restrict them after you already get their MAC/IP address.. But you can also set a range of DHCP-IP's with controlled bandwidth but there is nothing to say how to make sure guests get a particular range of IPs. This feature would have been great for visitors to check email or notifications etc with low bandwidth use and not get access to your entire inside networkAnother missing options is the radio power setting, it has none. So you cant set it for lower power use to make it only visible/work inside your flat. This works quiet far in line of sight mode. I easily get a signal at 100 meters and can see it more like at 200metrs at low speeds with no obstructions. The more obstructions the shorter the distance. But it is further than my old Linksys. So now the entire neighborhood and their brother can see my router. And it is missing the new 5GHZ band from wifi. Both AP's use the same channel even if they act like 2 separate AP's with different passwords and setup's and it would have been nice to have both 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ modes with 2.4ghz for guests and 5GHZ for yourself and high bandwidth. But it still has AP isolation for the entire router to be used in guest mode.Some have said this does not get warm, well the heat vents are under the router so that is where it does get warm, not the top. The adapter is a 9v 600ma one which is twice the rating of my old Linksys 12v 300ma one, so this does take and use more power as it has 2 radio's. The router itself is rather small. The DC adapter cord is rather short, so you need a wall socket close by.Although missing some important features, it also comes with many options. And being Chinese there is not many 3rd party user modified roms for it with extra functions like you find for Linksys or other routers. But by default it comes with a lot of functions that users wrote code for anyway so you wont miss it that much. Like bridging modes or relays or acting like AP's or wifi only repeaters etc..And considering it is much cheaper than even the single AP 150m routers of other OEM's this is a steal for the price and you get a 300m router with independent setup for 2 router modes and extended bandwidth.The green LED's are low power and so low visibility and it is hard to see them easily, would have been better with red LED indicators.

Software is on par with high end routers in terms of features. Extremely user friendly. (But no app support)Hardware will make you regret it after a while.Ethernet ports are not 8-pin. They are 4-pin. (Creates a significant speed drop)Router is too lightweight. Even a single Ethernet connection can lift it upwards or make it topple over from the table.2.4 GHz just isn’t good enough anymore, all our ISPs are moving to speeds that can’t be supported on 2.4 GHz. (Practically maxes out at 60 Mbps).NOTE: This has absolutely no support related to anything with 5 GHz. Can’t transmit, can’t recieve. You can’t use it as a repeater for an existing 5GHz signal.If you have a 100 Mbps or higher connection, it’s absolutely not worth it.If you’re not particular about speed but just need a cheap router/repeater, this is your best option.

I bought this wifi router for my cousin brother. I have Belkin Basic Wireless Router (F7D1301). tested Tenda for a day so that I could review it better with a comparison to mine. The wifi is pretty easy to setup and work with. The delivery was too prompt and fast. Thanks to amazon and seller for fast delivery and very economic pricing during the Great Indian Sale.Positives:1.Easy to setup2.A CD to help people3.A bit more strength in terms of range when compared to my Belkin.(above 10m) not more from downstairs(placement of router to kitchen area)4.No connection cuts or any issues5.Able to connect 5 devices without any issueCons:1.I couldnt find anyHope my brother too doesnt find any.Basic wifi for people who want to use and connect to several devicesInside the box:1.Ethernet cable2.CD3.Instruction manual4.And of course wifi router ;)If there are any issues that my brother face I will update it. For now its good enough for basic users and home purpose.Important Note:1st timers in wifi connection::1.Please place the wifi router connection at the central room of your house/flat/villa etc so that the span of wifi is better throughout the house.2.If you place the connection to one corner of the house it wont be able to provide range to next corner3.Placing in the corners of houses means the range will be available next door and even on the roads which you should be getting4.Keep wifi password a secret5.Write down the wifi password somewhere so that you dont have to reset it each timePlease check out the pics that I attached along with this.Update(19/06/16):After almost 2 weeks of usage my brother didnt find any issue or connection problem or range issues.Last but not the least if you liked my review please click helpful.Thanks in advance.

Defective product.. doesn't connect to internet. Technician tried several times . No aupport

Es un producto excelente, primero lo probé como repetidor universal y funcionó bien. De 20mb que tengo contratados me llegaban 10mb a los lugares mas lejanos. Sin embrago sentía que no estaba aprovechando al máximo su poder, así que se me ocurrió ponerlo como router principal y funcionó mejor que el que me había entregado mi compañía de internet (un módem TP-Link). Alcanzó los 20mb sin problemas en toda mi casa, tanto en la planta baja como en la alta. Si quieres usarlo como router principal te recomiendo ver un video en youtube, es muy sencillo y puedes sacarle un mayor provecho al aparato. Si vives en México y usas como proveedor de internet a Axtel, te recomiendo ponerlo como router, ya que es mucho mejor módem que el que te entregan por defecto. Sin duda lo recomiendo muchísimo y por el precio, es excelente.

Como siempre, un servicio rapidísimo, previsto entrega en 7 días,y me tardó sólo 2 dias. Mas no se puede pedir. En cuanto al aparato es excelente. Me había documentado un poco antes para hacer la instalación. Vi que no era difícil. Y cuando llegó la hora de hacerlo, fue mas simple todavía. Sencillisimo. Funciona perfectamente y hace su cometido. Donde yo ando con la tablet y la Roborock, es en el salón. El wifi me llegaba casi al 50%. Ahora he instalado una aplicación en el movil para ver cuanto dá. y el resultado es del 100%. Muy contento estoy, y por tanto recomiendo esta compra.

Such a brilliant little router. used with a recent installation with a Digital mixer, (X Air - XR16) works right out the box and the range is excellent. Really pleased with this find and the price is just ridiculously cheap!

Usei como repetidor e é perfeito, pode usar como roteador ou como repetidor, melhor do que comprar apenas um repetidor que costuma ser mais limitado e os preços dos repetidores atualmente andam bem inflacionados.Cometi o erro de comprar um repetidor(apenas repetidor) da intelbrass e foi só dor de cabeça, ficava caindo sinal, depois de um tempo confirmei que era o produto, não um defeito, mas sim um erro de projeto mesmo.Por fim voltando ao produto em questão:É fácil de configurar, se ainda sim tiver duvida, só procurar no youtube pelo modelo do roteador que não tem erro, tem gente explicando. Pode comprar sem medo, observando claro o local aonde vai posicionar se for usar como repetidor, na interface de configuração você consegue observar a potencia do sinal vinda do roteador principal.
