you'll naturally have way more confidence and so this book likely wont be as useful.
Not surprising that 80% of the content is just sports analogies - but if you havent played or competed in a wide variety of sports, you can't fully relate to what theyre trying to describe in a lot of the chapters. Other than sports analogies, a lot of the book is "about...about...about", which the material can be found online for free, (eg. flow state, self analysis, personality evaluation, motivation, goal setting, journaling). It doesn't hurt to read it if you want to expand your library (it has it's place) but just dont expect it to be Trading In The Zone or Disciplined Trader caliber. That aside, the main thing I realized was that you can only truly benefit from this book if you're an intermediate/experienced (or better) trader as most of this book assumes you already have a well thought out, habitual & disciplined trading process and complete methodology you truly believe in...the problem lies in the fact that once you've reached this level, you'll naturally have way more confidence and so this book likely wont be as useful.

A great read and addition to any trader's toolkit
This book was written by a former USOC Sports Psychologist and a Commodity Trader. Part of it reads as a motivational trading book drawing from examples from professional athletes. However the real value of this book lies in the exercises and ideas peppered inside every chapter. They span from effective goal setting, slump busting, and breathing exercises. Without coming across as a sermon the authors deliver plenty of easy ways to add to and improve your overall trading experience.

self help book.....
afer reading this book, i can't help but wonder if the authors used 10 minute toughness 10-Minute Toughness: The Mental Training Program for Winning Before the Game Begins and re-wrote it with a 'trading' type slant.this is a very good 'self help' book - in that it discusses one of the best ways to create goals (i have read many books on goal setting, the short chapter in this gives by far the best method of creating personal goals for you), however i question how great it would be at helping novice traders when the markets change direction against one's desired strategy - for this i think the book will only help with experience.also - it's incredibly expensive - there are much better self help books, which will give the reader more help in staying calm in strssful situations, focussing on strengths and positive self talk than this... 10-Minute Toughness: The Mental Training Program for Winning Before the Game Begins

Breaking through the barrier....
This book was recommended to me by my trading coach when I was struggling to get balance and consistency. The bottom line is to be successful as a trader really you need to know who you are, how you respond to the ups and downs of trading and break through the mental blocks. This book helped me do that and bring consistency into my trading. A good investment!Jason Scott OakesAuthor of Putting 'The Boot' On The Other Foot: Successfully Project Managing Yourself Out of RedundancyPutting 'The Boot' On The Other Foot: Successfully Project Managing Yourself Out of Redundancy
