Excellent Router Bit
The Yonico 15133 Drawer Front Joint Router Bit is a terrific bit for a terrific price. The bit arrived within two working days of placing my order. The router bit was wrapped in a couple of layers of corrugated cardboard which was well-taped closed. The bits' enclosing plastic pouch is barely large enough to contain it, and is certainly not intended to protect it. I inspected the bit and found no damage to any of the cutting surfaces or edges.Prior to chucking the bit, I did a considerable amount of research into bit set up. Router RPM speed, bit height and fence depth were all concerns I had that had to be answered.Router speed was fairly straight forward. The bit is a 2-inch diameter bit. Page 15 of the Bosch 1617EVS users' manual states that a Dial Setting of 1, 2 or 3 (8,000, 13,500 and 16,500 RPM, respectively) should be used for "...Nonferrous metals, larger diameter bits, and cutters...". PrecisionBits.com (http://www.precisionbits.com/drawer-front-router-bit-reversible-yonico-15133.html)states that router bits from 1" - 2" diameter should be between 18,000 and 22,000 RPM. I elected to use a conservative Dial Setting of about of about 3.5, which equated to about 19,250 RPM. Be sure to refer to your specific routers' user manual for bit speeds.I ran across a series of router bit setup instructions at Lee Valley Tools' website. I used their Small Drawer Lock Bit setup guide (http://www.leevalley.com/US/html/16j7672ie.pdf) and adapted it to to position the bit height and fence depth according to the thickness of the wood for the drawer box, taking into account the larger bit diameter. The final setup ended up very similar to what the guide suggested by aligning the center of the project stock with the center of the tapered cutting profile on the bit. Obviously due to the larger bit diameter of the Yonico bit, the placement of the fence is a little more forward of the center of the router bit than is shown in their illustrations, but the effect is the same. I am using a Bosch 1617EVS mounted in a Bosch RA1171 table.Once I felt that the RPM, depth and height were close to where I needed them, I ran a couple of test pieces using scrap redwood. The cuts were clean, and as I initially did not use a backing block, there was some expected tear-out.I then proceeded to test the cuts on some Baltic birch plywood as if it were the side of a drawer box. The cuts were nice and clean, and when using a backing block, the exit cut was crisp. I cut a corresponding drawer box back and tested the fit; nice and tight with near-perfect alignment. I made a couple of micro-adjustments to fence depth and recut the pieces for successful results. I then used a piece of scrap oak to create a setup block.Note, if possible, create a zero-clearance fence specifically for this bit. If you have a split fence with a sizable opening at the top, such as that found on the Bosch RA1171 table, the top layer of laminate on Baltic birch will splinter off. Also consider adjusting router RPM and feed speed so that the bit takes smaller bites, but not so slow that you get burning. Also note that due to the depth of the cutters this bit is ideally suited for 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch stock; the depth of the cutters will weaken or punch through thinner stock.I have purchased many Yonico router bits, including the Yonico 14705 Rabbet Router Bit with 6 Bearings Set, Yonico 17702 70 Bits Set, Yonico 13171 Round Over Edging Router Bit, Yonico 14522 5 Bit Straight/Dado Router Bit Set and many others. All of these bits perform well, cut cleanly and hold up to medium-term usage. Properly set up, used, maintained and stored, Yonico bits are an excellent bargain. Thanks Yonico!

Very inexpensive entry into 90 degree drawer locks.
Sets up just like the more expensive bits. Works well on MDF and Plywood.Had a small issue with chips jamming, with aspen, and spruce. No issue with oak, or popular. If you like this joinery, and have an issue with long chips jamming up behind your fence, go ahead and spend the money for a 2" diameter bit. It should solve you problem.I keep this one set-up for 1/2 inch stock, in one of my router tables. That, and a cheap 1HP craftsman router are dedicated for making drawers. I do not ask anything else from it. Just drawers from 1/2 inch MDF and Baltic Birch plywood.Anything larger, goes to my spindle shaper.

Good quality, but difficult to use with no instructions
Router bit is good quality. Hard to figure out precise steps to employ this bit properly. If it came with instructions, I might have given it 5 stars. I think I would get the Freud DrawerLock Router Bit if I was looking to buy again.

Why Pay More
I am a serious woodworker, one that uses a router table quite often, and I have several Yonico bits. These bits are fairly priced, and work well for the average woodworker who is not a professional, meaning someone that would be using this bit every day.

Although this appears to be a quality bit, I returned it. Setup is just too touchy.
I downloaded the manufacturer's setup instructions and never did achieve a comfortable setup. I think they are wrong. It's just not worth the trouble when there are many other easy and effective methods to join the corners of a drawer. This is more of a novelty for the woodworker who has to have all the tools IMO. I find it a waste of time.

Great router bit works damn well.
For the price you cannot beat the quality. Super sharp clean edge which means zero tear out with a backer board and the right speed. Used it on hard rock maple with curly maple fronts and it gave me clean edges. Big hefty chunk of steel and carbide. Worth twice the price.
