RadonSeal Efflorescence Remover - Cleans Efflorescence, Mortar Haze, Lime, and Rust Stains

I had serious water leaks in my chimney. The water streamed down onto and around the fireplace. This caused efflorescence to appear on the brick that borders the fireplace opening. After fixing the leaks it was time to clean the fireplace. This cleaner easily removed all of the efflorescence from the brick. As an added bonus it nearly cleaned all of the soot. Because of this I took the extra step of cleaning the inside of the firebox. Much of the soot was removed.With all of the efflorescence removed I now realize that there are a few paint stains on the brick from the previous owners. The stains are now very visible because the brick looks like new. I guess this is my next project.If you're interested in the steps that I took, please read on. First I laid heavy plastic tarp on the floor around the fireplace. I did not want any splashing to land on my hardwood floor. After putting on a dust mask, next I used a brush with a long handle to clean any loose efflorescence from the brick. I suggest keeping an air purifier running nearby since this step will kick up some efflorescence laden dust. Then I used plain tap water to soak the brick. I had used the same brush and a bucket of water. You'll notice the brick soak up the water right away. This step is important so that the brick does not soak up much of the cleaner. You are cleaning only the surface after all. I put on long latex gloves and safety goggles that completely surround and enclose my eyes. I used a separate bucket with about a quart of the cleaner. I brushed the cleaner on the brick using a bit of elbow grease. I brushed 2-3 coats. Let the cleaner sit for a few minutes, per the instructions on the bottle. Finally, I used fresh water to rinse the cleaner away. The bricks look like new!

Efflorescence is tough to remove and I've tried multiple products and methods to clean up 180 feet of 5 ft tall concrete block retaining wall. This stuff works best and is relatively safe too. Go to a big box store and get one of these non metallic $4 spray bottles for application so you can be more precise and efficient with where you're putting it. Make sure to test in an inconspicuous area to start. Spray on enough to keep it wet and bubbling, wait 3 - 5 minutes, then repeat, wait again, and repeat. Keep the affected area wet with more product in the sprayer and be patient and let the chemical work. Then work it with a really stiff brush. Then wait some more and spray it again. Wait a few minutes and rinse. Then rinse some more. Use lots of water to rinse, this stuff is really aggressive and eats concrete so you must get it all off. Work small areas at a time until you figure out how this product works and then work your way up. Some of lighter areas only needed 2 or 3 sprays, with up to 6 on the thick stuff. It will come off. Be patient.Highly recommend and will purchase again if it comes back.PS, I did this without gloves with no problems on my hands and skin. I did wear safety glasses. You might want to put on some rubber gloves though.

I used this product on my concrete porch, and it did remove the efflorescence. But not only did it leave light streaks or stains or it etched out the concrete, the run off from rinsing did the same thing (but more pronounced) on my newly installed sealed pavers, which borders the porch. I don't care that much about my concrete porch because it's not that bad and I plan on getting it stamped, but I am really ticked off about my pavers. It's noticeable. Now I have another problem and it's not going to be cheap to fix. I am going to have to hire someone to either have my pavers stripped and re-sealed and sanded or have the flip the pavers, which also means re-sanding and adding sealant.

We had a lot of efflorescence on a side wall of our building. We wanted to keep the brick exposed during a remodel and were looking for a product that left he brick clean. This did not clean it 100% but did clean it about 50%. Like I said it was A LOT of efflorescence, so this may have not been high enough concentrate. Not sure. Maybe for smaller jobs.

Worked well on paver not yet sealed but had little to no effect on pavers that were sealed 2+ years ago.

This works . After trying alot of other products this really works well.

Nowadays it’s common for vendors to over hype their product and even promote positive reviews which may not be deserved.I waited a bit longer than usual to get to my project and if this stuff didn’t work, I was stuck with it. The stains I had would not budge with vigorous scrubbing using a variety of cleaners. Partial stain removal occurred with prolonged pressure washer use however it was etching the stone and masonry and I had to stop so as not to significantly mar the surface.To make a long story short - this product worked like a charm. Crazy fast efflorescence removal with almost zero effort. Bummed I didn’t start with this product; it would have saved a ton of time.

These are before and after pics.I soaked my bricks several times, followed the instructions on the bottle, made a test, and went to work. The product worked much better than I expected. One good problem was that it cleaned everything so well that I could see lite Efflorescence where I was not expecting any, so I cleaned it off too.There was no change in my bricks' color.
