Fancy Buying New Laptop Battery for Dell Latitude E6400 E6410 E6500 E6510 Precision M2400 M4400 M4500 M6500

I bought this battery for my Dell Latitude 5490 laptop which is about 3 years old. It doesn't see much use but i normally fired it up and charged it periodically, but the battery was flaky. I would fully charge it, then the next day boot up, it would show a full charge, and then within seconds freeze up and the battery would be dead. I fought with that for several months, but last week ordered this battery. It came in a box with a screw driver. Screws came out easily, the old battery was smaller, the new one fit like a glove and now my laptop is back in action and appears to have a much longer battery life than when brand new. Very happy.

Good batteries. I needed to refresh four old student laptops, Dell Vostro 3500. These batteries installed easily and came up without errors. They came charged only 15%, and possibly in sleep mode, so if you install one, your machine may not boot up off the battery right away. Plug the machine into the AC adapter and let the battery charge to 100%. After that you’ll be up and running.

Overall: new battery works well in my HP 15 notebook. Longevity? Who knows, only time will tell. I will say that it is a dead on physical match for the old one (although it is a 4 cell rather than a 3 cell like the original but that does not seem like a problem but rather is a 'plus'). The price was good - I sort-of hate to spend to much on the HP 15 as it is rather limited in technical specs (RAM and a slow processor being the two killers) but, with a bit of luck and 8 GB memory stick and switching to Linux Mint, will be good. At least it will be scrapped out!!

I perform computer repairs and these parts seem to be high quality and the next best thing to the OEM branded batteries. The value for the money is great, as they are cheaper than the OEM parts, but not the lowest price on the market. I never want the cheapest part, as you get what you pay for. Battery life is good, as no one has ever returned with a failed battery to me, in over 10 years of performing repairs. Functionality and compatibility are excellent when compared to the OEM parts. Perfect fit to replace the original OEM part.

Arrived on time and works well

Best $35 I could have spent on this laptop. I moved from 2 hours of battery life to 7. The installation was fairly easy with plenty of help on YouTube. One word of caution, it does not come with the power cord which means you have to remove the existing one which is a little tricky. Very fragile parts that feel they are too comfortable to move hence need considerable motivation. Google Gemini helped a lot on this little task.

This battery only lasted about 4 months. I only use the Dell laptop for holiday light shows and it worked fine for Christmas last year (2024) but during the 2025 4th of July show it hardly lasted 20 minutes! Now for Halloween I get an error light on the laptop charging indicator and the battery is completely dead and won't charge at all. The manufacturers battery lasted for years prior to needing replacing. Lesson learned by not buying OEM.

Takes some skill to install. The battery worked well for about a year, then failed.
