cadet 1000 watt baseboard heater
UPDATE 12/11/24 (TEN YEARS LATER)Ten years since my last update. This heater still works. Through several moves, and being tossed around from room to room, house to house, and state to state... it still works perfectly (aside from a few bent fins, oops...). I couldn't be happier with it. Last year the central heating went out in the new(ish) place i'm living, so i pulled this out of the closet and wired it back up. Fired right up and helped keep a comfortable temperature in my living room. While i may not have used it constantly over the last ten years, the fact it still works after all this time makes me feel warm and toasty inside.UPDATE 11/22/14Having used this heater throughout the winter of 2013 and now going into winter of 2014, This thing is still working great. Helps keep my bedroom comfortable and only gets as hot as it needs to with my honeywell baseboard thermostat. It did struggle however to keep the room warm when the temps got between 15 and 30 degrees F. This is mostly due to the old single pane windows i have and lack of decent insulation in my very OLD house. This winter i'm putting up some reflectix insulation on the windows and it should be much easier for the heater to keep me warm and toasty at night!ORIGINAL REVIEW 3/9/13First of all, ignore the one star review. If you can't take time to research what you intend to buy, then you deserve to be dissapointed.I installed this heater along with a basic honeywell thermostat in my bedroom. I live in an old home, so heating is a pain. Being only 1000 watts, it doesn't heat super fast, but I can definitively say that it can get and maintain a much more comfortable room temp than the fan forced heater it replaced. Being that it is mounted onto the wall, it is completely out of the way.The unit seems well made and so far I haven't had any issues with it. Even when the thermostat turns it on full heat, it is silent And makes no creaking sounds. The quiet even heat is absolute bliss when I lay down to rest for the night. I had gotten use to fan heaters so much that now it is almost eerie how quiet the room is.With my experience having this heater, im going to be buying more of their heaters.

Great heater for a small space - easy to install as well.
Needed a small baseboard heater to throw a little heat into a storage room. This was the smallest I could find, and Amazon had the best price by far. Arrived in great shape, was easy to hook up (assuming your even slightly electrically inclined) - just two wires and a ground. I wired in parallel with some existing heaters already controlled by a thermostat so perhaps that helped with the easy part. The painted finish is quite good - seems like it would be scratch resistant. At 350W this unit is intended for small spaces. It does not get that hot at all - really just warm to the touch. Would work great in a small bathroom - maybe up to 6x6 room or so in my opinion. Baseboard heaters are not the most efficient things for heating but they work well, make virtually no noise and have proven to be reliable...there are no moving parts.I've bought many Cadet heaters over the years and keep going back to them because they make a quality product and stand behind it. I would absolutely buy this again. Amazed Amazon sells these!!

Look good in room, easy install, decent upgrade from older units
I am currently remodeling all the rooms in a very old (circa 1890) house. The house had old Electrolux baseboard heaters, probably manufactured in the 80's, that were very beat up and probably not very efficient. Not to break the bank, I purchased 2 of these for a small library/utility room that is rarely used. I ordered them both at the same time and they came on separate days, but that's not a big issue. The first of the two came out of the box and I noted the casing was bent in a couple spots, but nothing I couldn't fix with a little bend here and there. Some of the fins inside the unit were out of place, but I put them back in and they lined right up. The directions for installation were pretty good and the pictures were clear, so installation was a breeze. Because of the age of the home, I installed two of these units in a small room, probably 120 square feet. Because I only had one arrive the first day, I installed and tested it. It worked very quietly and generated good heat, but due to drafts in the house, and it being winter in PA, it wasn't enough heat to warm the room sufficiently (also, there's no door, so that surely affected it). I installed the second heater the next day. This one was packaged nicely, no dings, no bumps, all fins properly aligned. I did a right install on the first and a left side install on the second (both at 240 V). Both installs were equally simple, just slightly different in which wires you cut. I coupled these with a Honeywell non-programmable thermostat and I'm very happy. They run quietly and look great. I can not comment on the overall efficiency yet because it is warming up in PA a little bit. I am waiting on another unit I ordered from the same company, but this one is the 83" hydronic version which will be going in an adjacent room. I'm hoping they compliment each other and warm the front two rooms of the house. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. Will update with photos later and perhaps a comment on efficiency when the remodel is complete.

Good heater and great price
great little heater, easy to install. Make sure to buy a two pole thermostat since it has an off position. Single pole doesnt. First start up has an odor or hot smell, this goes away aftwer several hours of operation. The unit arrived a bit damaged so i straightend out the small dent on the back of it and installed it with no difficulties .
