My oldest daughter has one and I thought it would be fun to have one as well so that we could play a finger piano duet!!! I’m really excited to find the time once school gets out for us to have some fun together! It is amazing what beautiful music you can make with these! The wood is gorgeous and it takes up such little space but has such a big beautiful sound. I was quite surprised! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautifully crafted, easy to play and use *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2019* Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This is the first kalimba, or thumb piano, I’ve ever had, and this one is really beautifully crafted. The box of the instrument is smooth, polished wood fitted seamlessly together with rounded edges, and just an extra touch of flair with a detailed design around the sound hole. The keys are a sturdy, durable polished metal that lay across a bridge and are threaded through a bracket. Each key has a numbered musical notation stamped into it with the coordinating phonetical note, making it simple to learn how to play it using the accompanying mini songbook. This is an instrument anyone can play at any age, learning to play was a breeze. This thumb piano is sturdy enough even for kids. You play it by holding the box in your hands and plucking the metal keys, or tines, downward with your thumbs or fingers. The sound of this kalimba is amazing, very mellow and resonating. This instrument comes fully tuned, with a soft velour storage bag to protect it, a tuning hammer for future use, a tuning aid download for phone or mobile, and easy to learn instructions and songbook. ### ⭐ Cheap wood. It arrived broken.. sounds terrible. *by R***S on Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2019* Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Product arrived with a huge crack from The sound hole all the way past the bridge and it's severely affects the sound causing a vibration a twang sound when the keys are played. Other than the broken wood, the instrument is as advertised and fun to play. Would've been 5 stars if it wasn't cracked. Not even worth paying the shipping to get a replacement. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/75559000-initer-17-keys-kalimba-finger-piano-thumb-piano-mbira-tune](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/75559000-initer-17-keys-kalimba-finger-piano-thumb-piano-mbira-tune) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-30*
