Helps prevent urinary tract infections and avoid expensive vet bills.
All of the cats I've owned have developed urinary tract infections, so my goal is to avoid expensive vet bills and expensive prescription foods. Thus far, my cat has loved this product, and as not developed the infections my previous cats faced. Presumably, my cat loves the flavor and texture of this food as he regularly eats every bit I place in his dish. The food keeps for several months, retaining its color and taste, so I'm happy that none goes to waste. My cat's health is important to me and Purina is a trusted brand that I have confidence in. Purina has been in the pet food business for a long time, and I recommend this food to anyone who's experienced infected cats and expensive vet bills. I combine this dry food with a similarly designed wet food, making my cat happy at mealtime.

Great food
My cat had urinary issues a was given prescription food. It got really expensive. So I found this brand as a more affordable alternative. My cat likes it. And he has not been having any issues since I purchased in February ( 4 months of use). The price is nothing compared to frequent vet vist.

THIS FOOD IS A LIFESAVER!!!
My last cat suffered from UT issues in the last part of her life. We spent big money at the vet for antibiotics, I.V. flushes and all kinds of other "treatments". Although she had a long life, dying at 18, I really think if I would have known about this food she would still be here. Within a year of getting our new cat, he started suffering from the same UT issues. After spending a couple of hundred at the vet, FINALLY, they suggested Purina Pro Plan UT food. It has been a miracle. We signed up for the automatic delivery every 2 months and adjust it when he needs more or less. We feed Vereen the dry food version and he absolutely loves it. He can have a full bowl sitting and if the Amazon delivery comes he will try and rip open the new bag! I still feed him wet food a few times a week, I give him one of those Sheba perfect portions and fill the container up with equal parts of water and mix. I try to get him as much water as possible. I do this with the tiny cans of the Beyond wet food also. The cost of this Purina UT health food is a little steeper than an average bag of Meow Mix, but those cheap foods are what makes them make crystals. And believe me, I tried the highest priced brands of cat food, Rachel Ray, Blue Buffalo, etc... This is the only one that stopped the problem. I'd rather spend a little more money and keep him out of pain, and possibly extend his life. It has been over a year and he's very healthy. If your cat is "peeing" all over your house, they are really trying to pass crystals that have formed, much like humans who suffer from Kidney Stones. You have an overwhelming need to push them out and it's very painful. You may see blood where they tinkle. They associate pain with their litter box because of this and will avoid it if they can, that's why they will try and push these out in other places around the house. If your cat is experiencing any of this, I am now convinced it's the food that's causing it. Vereen has been my guinea pig and the results have been wonderful!

Great for urinary health, wish it had more Omega 3s for coat health
My cats had always eaten wellness core (grain free) because it really reduced their shedding. However, my adult male loves to eat any human food he can get his paws on. So, after getting into some scraps in the trash a few times, he developed crystals in his urinary tract. Initially he was on Hill Science Diet, which got rid of the crystals but left his coat dry with gobs of hair coming out. After 6 months on the prescription diet I switched him to this for maintenance. I am not sure how well this would work at getting rid of the crystals, as the food they eat needs to be acidic to break them down. But for maintenance it has worked well. His coat is much healthier and he sheds less than he did on Hill Science Diet, but it isn't in the same great condition it was with Wellness. If they added some more Omega 3s and vitamins that some of the higher end foods had it would definitely be a 5 star product. For Urinary tract health overall this is a much better and much cheaper alternative to prescription diets.

Pro Plan has been excellent cat food for our "big girl"
Due to our cat having had 2 urinary tract infections within 6 months, and inability to obtain a urine sample at the follow up appt. to the second infection, it was recommended that our cat switch from the senior, indoor, turkey and rice formula to an adult urinary tract formula. We told the vet that we’d been using Pro Plan and she confirmed that this is a good cat food. We added this new formula to her prior Pro Plan food in increasing amounts for about two weeks. Our 19 lb. cat (not fat, just a big girl) had no problem switching Pro Plan formulas, so we are pleased. For the second vet's appt. we had brought our cat in because of lack of bowel movement for 2 days. The vet (who could feel multiple little round feces) said that a cat with a urinary tract infection will often be uncomfortable or in pain when trying to pass feces and thus will not have the bowel movement. She recommended using a urinary tract food. As without the urine sample, it couldn't be determined whether or not her infection had been cured, the vet gave her a 2nd long lasting antibiotic injection, in addition to stool softener medication. Our only concern is that the Pro Plan urinary tract formula doesn’t address hair balls. Since the repeat of the urinary tract infection is the greater concern, we decided to put her on and keep her on the Urinary Tract formula. Later my husband read on line that some vets recommend adding soft food/food with liquid to the diet to help reduce constipation, so we decided to try this also. We supplemented her dry food with a soft dinner with gravy, but giving the "meal" to her in 1/4 portions for 4 days of treats. As she'll lick the gravy but refuse to eat the soft chunks, we puree one meal and gravy, give her 1/4 of it, and refrigerate the rest. We microwave the other portions before serving them, as the warmth is more appetizing and should help to relax muscles for easier passing of feces. She gobbles her “treat” up, even sitting by her dry cat food during the day, hoping to get more of the pureed stuff (which has duck in it), although she also likes the Pro Plan. Since the medicine, and diet change, our cat has been fine. We’ve been very satisfied with the Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract formula cat food and previously had been quite pleased with the Pro Plan turkey and rice indoor formula for adult cats. Prior to using the Pro Plan we had used another brand that vets recommend and sell. I must say that our cat did (and does) much better on the Pro Plan than she did on that other name brand cat food. My only regret is not having switched to Pro Plan sooner.

Garbage cat food
Wish i could give negative stars. Second bag of this food we bought with bugs in it. Last time was April 25th. Here its July 14th bugs. We keep the food in a big plastic pet food bin. And I opened it today to find little quarter inch moths flying out of it. Dont ever buy this garbage. Not sure if its related but both times I have found the bugs, the odor of the food changed to a rancid type smell and my cat get diarrhea. I will update when I can get a picture of the actual bugs since they flew out when I opened the container

Cat food
My cat didn’t really love it but he ate it . I don’t have a lot of choice with urinary tract food so am glad he had another taste .A little pricey but not over the top.

Seems good
Cat only ate it for about 2 weeks. I’m sure it’s good food, just my cat is so picky.
