I have owned two pairs of these Ariat 8" Cascade square steel toe lace-ups. The first pair was so miserably uncomfortable that it took two years before they were broke in enough to wear two days in a row. It felt like wearing steel ankle shackles. Since Ariat shoes are usually above average quality, 5 years later I decided to take a chance and buy a second pair, it case the first pair were a lemon fluke. Second pair is much closer to the quality I would expect from Ariat. It still feels like they'll need a few months to break in, but at least I can wear them on consecutive days. I get a lot of compliments on how they look. A lot of people think they look cool. If your lace-up boots are uncomfortable, try switching out the strings to a pair with either less bungee springiness or more springiness. Sometimes the stretch of the laces makes a huge difference.

These boots are the best work boots I have owned. I work in a wear house where you have to have steel toe, and I have been up in the mountains cutting down trees and under the house to fix frozen water pipes. I applied mink oil to the boots and let them dry for 48 hours and if I have had a long dirty work day all I have to do is take a wet rag and wipe them off and they look brand new every time. Great quality, good feel, and yes I would recommend them and buy them again.

These boots look nice and i like them other than the hard fact that both boots came with deep creases on each ankle. I wear them HARD and for 8 hours a day and i figured they would loosen up after a bit and not be so rough. I can hardly walk in these because each step sends the crease pushing really hard and rubbing each ankle giving me blisters that just keep getting deeper and deeper everyday I wear them. Every time i get into the shower i want to scream because as soon as the water touches my feet its nothing but a crazy strong sting. Like I said they look nice, i dont know if i got a pair that was boxed incorrectly or what happened but I can not wear them and have no choice but to send them back and get a new pair from my local western wear.

It's been 6 months with these boots and im quite pleased with them. Took longer than some to break in but after that they have been great. They have 6 months of daily use and could easily go another 6 by the looks of them. The twisted x's i was getting before for the last 5 years would barely make 6 months anymore so i tried these and couldn't be happier.

I have had these boots for around a month. I have tried several different shoe lacing configurations. I have yet to be comfortable with these all day. I am 5 ft 10 in tall and weigh 220 lbs. I am on my feet on concrete all day and mobile most of the time. The toe box is roomy but kind of arches up. The instep seems tight when tied too tight, but slides around from front to back when not tight. I really want these boots to be comfortable as they appear to be a major brand that no longer produces a similar style. I have worn socks made specifically for steel toe boots and they help somewhat. I hope this review is helpful to someone looking to purchase.

The absolute best boots I have ever worn in my life and I’m hard on boots. They do take a couple weeks to break in but once they do it’s a game changer. I bought these under the impression they were safety tow but they are not but I wear them on mine site and places that safety toe is mandatory but still wear them anyways. Highly recommend just wish they were safety toe

It is comfortable to walk in even if there not fully broken in yet but from the factory they don’t fit my feet quite right being my one foot is slightly different then the other foot

Very nice boots fit perfectly and are very comfortable. They arrived fairly quick so no complaints so far.
