TAM54500 54500 Rc TT02 High Speed Gear Set, 68T, Black

Good quality part. The Tamiya TT-02 is so light that it needs weight at higher speeds. TT-02 needs a lot of tweaking but a good starting platform.

Haven't had a chance to use it as a whole. I had an issue with spur n pinion gears for this car and ended up using the center aluminum gear mount part and a modified gear from something else .it worked perfectly in a pinch

Fits well (as you'd expect from genuine Tamiya parts), and it allows for easier swapping of spur gears as ones that fit this upgraded setup are easier to find. I also appreciate that this upgrade costs less than $10, as that is not common in this RC hobby.

This is my fault, but make sure to use locktite on the little set screws that hold the gear to the aluminum hub. Mine backed out after about a month and jammed between the pinion gear and main gear seizing the car up while going top speed. Pretty much ruined the gear assembly and I had to put the original set back in the car. Again, my fault. The quality was fine.
