Misses a third of the routine
it's really good to see this book and I hope kids enjoy it. This routine needs to be heard and explained for kids to "get it," so I hope parents spend times together with their children. (That's how I first heard it.)What disappointed me with the book was that several key parts of the routine are excluded, such as when Who's wife comes to pick up his paycheck and when Costello thinks the first baseman's name it's Naturally.Maybe these were left out to keep it simple for children. However, anyone expecting the complete routine may be disappointed and should know before they buy it. On the other hand, if you want something simple for you young children, this is probably fine.P.S. If you never heard this performed before, the are plenty of videos of it in the web.

Love it!
Great book to introduce the classic sketch. The only improvement would be to have the players pictures for reference on more pages. We manage by keeping a finger in place on the page that has a picture of who, what and I don’t know. It helps my 4.5 year old get the joke.

A lovely tribute to the classic comedy skit
This picture book is appealing for all ages and would make a perfect Father's Day gift. Even if Father's Day has passed when you read this, John Martz's illustrated Who's on First would make a nice complement to attending a summer baseball game, perhaps especially with Grandpa. My kids and I watched one of Abbott & Costello's original 1930s performances , then we read this book together. In fact, the visual aids ("Who" is a worm, "What" is a dog, "I Don't Know" is a chicken, etc.) will help kids "get" the hilariousness, even while Costello (here a white rabbit) continues to be perplexed. Of course this is a shortened version of the full skit. The endpapers are boring but at least consistent with the solid pastel backgrounds throughout the book. Also would have liked a colophon more substantial than "Printed in China."

Abbott & Costello: Who's On First lives on
The most hilarious routine in the history of comedy, in the form of a children's book, but still fun. My brother and I have been fans of Abbott & Costello since we first saw one of their movies on TCM, and we're even able to perform the famous skit together without a moments hesistation. I highly recommend adding this to any collection.

Cute book...
An illustrated interpretation of Abbot and Costello’s Who’s on First routine. If you’ve never heard it before, it’s a fun read. If you have, it’s fun to read to read to your kids. Quite short, of course.

Classic Comedy Routine for a New Generation
I enjoy word play, and this routine has always made me laugh. My kids (ages 5, 7, and 9) all love having me read this out loud to them, and it brought me great joy when I heard them reciting it to each other in the car one day. It's also a great read-aloud book to young classes as it introduces kids to the importance of language and how one should never really get to comfortable with always using words in the same way.

Great Classic for the younger generation to enjoy!
Great Book!!! We bought this as a gift for a friend who has three young grandsons. He was so thankful for the gift and his grandsons read it over and over again. One grandson had a class assignment to read aloud a book in the classroom and he chose this book because he wanted the other kids to laugh. It worked!!! Quite a classic of it's time and it was nice to know that it was enjoyed so much by the younger children who never heard of Abbott & Costello.

Challenging at first, but worth the effort
This started as a challenging night-time story for me to read alone to my son (3 years), but he continued to request it and by the 3rd read through with Dad as Abbot and Mom as Costello, my son totally caught on and started making jokes about WHO being on FIRST! Cute illustrations help with comprehension, for sure.

Great take on a classic
We read the book so many times over 3 weeks from the library that we had to buy it. The night it arrived we read it 4 times before bed. Definitely a winner in this house, lots of fun.

Good book
This was a Christmas gift for my cousin's son. I hear that he loves the book and makes his mom and dad read it all the time. I was very glad that it arrived on time, and there was no damage to the paper cover of the book.

Had to buy this one
I love Abbott & Costello, and when I saw this book, I just had to buy it. I probably would have still bought it if I didn't have kids!
