Review: Use Plumbers Putty on Top - Rubber Ring Goes Under Sink - I see some people confused about installing this. The included rubber gasket and cardboard gasket go under the sink. On the top you need to use plumbers putty to seal it properly. Roll a small ball of plumbers putty (Oatey) out into a long strand then circle it around the underneath of the drain (the part that will touch the sink), then insert the drain and press down. Assemble the items underneath the sink (rubber gasket, cardboard gasket, then screw on the locking nut. The drain looks great and is easy to install. I haven't had any leaks yet. The only thing I'm getting used to is how shallow the drain is. Compared to the standard drains I'm used to seeing, this is pretty shallow.
