great value
Purchased in several colors since moving overseas as fishing is touted to be amazing here. Still waiting to actually fish but the line is easy to put on the reel and I feel it's a great buy.

It’s a good braided line, not a great one
This is the first time I’ve bought the onyx version of piscifun’s braid(normally I get the lunker braid) and from my experience with both there’s little to no differences between the two, they both feel extremely similar to Daiwas x4 j-braid (even though this one claims to be to be an x8 braid which is more suitable for casting) and that’s no surprise considering piscifun makes their products in the same plants as Daiwa, however Daiwas quality control is a lot better in the sense that their braids are free of any defects all along the entire spools, with this one (as picture) I had to remove about 12-18 yards of braid since I found small knots of braid unraveling and some small knicks along the beginning section, while this isn’t too bad, it really makes me wonder/doubt how well the entire line will hold up over time, safe to say though after a couple of uses I’ll be taking it to the tackle shop to unspool it and slap on some J-Braid or maybe some max cuatro, definitely worth the 10$ I paid for it don’t get me wrong, just not worth having on your reels for a long time, a good back up I’d say in case you get spooled.

Maybe got a bad one
UPDATE: 10/20/2016 - The customer service is exceptional. Cathy of Piscifun Customer Service had contacted me within a couple of days in response to this review. She was apologizing for my experience and offered either a refund or a replacment for the spool. We found out that the spool I received was manufactured more than a year ago at their old factory and since then they had changed to a new factory. I am not sure if their new factory is any better but I figured with this quick attention and customer service, I would give it another try. The product performance was disappointing at first but the follow-up by customer service made a difference in my overall experience and has made up for it. Hopefully the replacement performs better. The replacement is shipping from China so it will take a couple of weeks to be delivered, but the company seems to be working very hard to ensure that customers are satisfied with their product and services.*****ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've had a couple of issues with this line (45lbs, 500m, dia. 0.35mm, multi color). First is in general and the second might be a manufacturing defect unique to my order:1) The Q&A indicates the color changes in about 10 meter increments. However, when I spooled this on a Penn Battle II 5000 (braid capacity 420/20 300/30 240/40), I could only get 16 colors changes (160 meters/175 yards) even when I overspooled. The metric diameter/length line capacity indicated on the spool of this reel is also 0.36mm/205 meters, which means I could only spool 20~25% less line than indicated. I like to have more than 200 yards of line on my reels in case of a line break but this was still enough for most applications so I didn't respool a new line. I am not sure if the issue is a) with the spool capacity being wrong, b) color change distance is not 10 meters, or 3) the line diameter is actually thicker than indicated. I use 30lbs braid and 65lbs braid from different manufacturers on my other setups. The thickness of this braid is in between those but I cannot vouch for its accuracy.2) I wanted to test the new line before my intended use and I am glad that I did. THE LINE SNAPPED ON MY FIRST RETRIEVE! I used this as my backup setup when rock cod fishing and upon retriving a small fish (drag was less than 5lbs), this braid line just snapped at about 30~40 yards from the end during the retrieve. I did not notice any knots or damage when spooling or dropping the line, and it did not snag or have a sudden change in resistance as it was part way up during my retrieve. Upon inspecting the break, the line was frayed not at one spot but each strand separately across a couple of inches with no damage to the other strands in the same spot, which led me to conclude that each strand broke separately in a short the distance (stress break) than being cut. I didn't snag it or anything either and it was the first time dropping the line in the water so it must have been a weak point from manufacturing. My other setups with 30lb braid from different manufactures have handled more than 100 drops without an issue so I was very surprised that this 45lbs line snapped under low strain when new.I dropped the line again after it had snapped and there wasn't much line left after I reached the bottom, so I am pretty sure it only spooled about 160m and not the capacity of the reel for 200m.Very disappointed that it cost me a rig and rock cod on my first retrieve but glad I tested it first. If this was on a yellowtail, etc., then I would have been !@#$P.S. It would be very helpful if a table of line diameter could be added to the product description as that is a standard deciding point on what line to spool in many cases.

Awesome Affordable Braid
I wanted to give this braid a true work out before I commented on its performance and MY opinion of it. I have used Power Pro for bass fishing several times in the past and I just simply did not like it. It retains memory and for me didnt cast well. I am also an avid crappie fisherman so I decided to purchase this Onyx 6lb test in yellow. After using it this summer I am Very happy with it. It is extremely limp, super strong and casts every bit as good as monofilament. Fill your reel up but don't overfill and you will be happy too. If you overfill you will get the wind knots and thats not fun. I use it tied directly to a 1/16 crappie jig and it casts great as crappie are not line shy. I have a reel spooled up with it now in which I have a short clear monofilament leader tied to the braid with a crazy alberto knot and a gold number 4 hook in which I intend to fish a red creme angle worm across the shoals at my local trout river, I think it will work awesome for that. Get you a spool of this tiny diameter braid and try it, I think you will like it-note: I am using long light action rods with this 6'6" and 7' rods.

Been good, strong, any tangles generally my fault!
New to braid a year ago I got back into lure fishing and decided to give it a try. It’s been a very positive experience overall. I’ve used it on bait casters and spin reels and yes sure I’ve had to learn a bit on how to thumb a bait caster.. and how to be mindful of wind direction etc. I’ve found over the year I’ve tidied my act up a bit.. taking just a little more time to make sure my knots are good and bring a bit more methodical with my kit in general.. and I’ve avoided some of the frustration I used to feel.I’ve successfully used 15lb brown Piscifun Onyx on the lighter of my two setups, I’ve just ordered a replacement in 20lb yellow as the waters re more cloudy and faster running now it’s winter. Works for me !
