K580 Wired RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Macro Key & Media Wheel | 5 On-Board Keybinding Buttons for MMO MOBA Games, Dedicated Media Controls, Classic Tactile Blue Switch for Hype Typing Feel

I had a mechanical Corsair keyboard I absolutely LOVED - best keyboard ever, other than the fact that it lacked the 10 key. I did pick up the Reddragon USB wireless 10 key keypad to use but that just wasn't enough for me since I didn't like having a separate device, using another USB slot, etc... I wanted a full keyboard. I tried a few others but they all fell lacking. Since the Corsair was USB C I wasn't adding anything new, so I tried this. I got the BLUE switches version since I like the sound of the mechanical keyboard. Granted, I do little typing on this since this is for my gaming desktop, but on the off chance I do, I love that sound. Feel is great. It's hefty and solid, not cheap and light like the others. Keys feel really good, positive engagement and as a fast touch typer I appreciate a keyboard that can keep up. I love the sounds it makes as each key goes, and it sounds awesome when typing fast. RGP lights look good. I left it at default, the multicolor wave that passes side to side, same thing that the Corsair was set to by default. Keys are easy to see in the dark as well, unlike some "backlit" keyboards that don't have any transparent part of the key for the LED's to actually LIGHT UP the letter. Very happy with this so far.

Great for everything but.. very, very loud switches. INFORMATION ABOUT THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF MECHANICAL SWITCHES, COLORS, AND SOUND: I purchased this not understanding how to tell the difference between mechanical switches. I had never experienced a keyboard as loud as this one. I don't know if I didn't look at enough reviews, or people just assumed everyone knew that these were Cherry MX Blue switches. I see them advertised as blue now, but I'm not sure they were when I bought these. For the uninitiated, the color is generally how you tell how the mechanical key switches work and how loud they will be. There are several different characteristics of different switch types, including how quickly they detect a press, whether there is a mid-stroke "bump", end-stroke "bump", various types of clicks, and basically how loud they are. There is a huge variation in noise generated within the real mechanical switches, so don't believe you are varying just between mechanical and membrane (and/or "hybrid") keyboard types. There ARE quiet real mechanical keyboards, but generally membranes will be quiet (and are a lot cheaper, on average). There is the major name brand in key switches, which is Cherry MX, and they have 5 or more major switch colors - blue, brown, red, black, white/grey/clear, etc. Do a search for keyboard switch types/colors and you'll find some articles. This brand is popular enough that there are generic brands that copy their color scheme, so that "blue" or "red" will mean the same thing, but if you search you'll find there are other brands that have different schemes as well. In general, blue is the loudest possible, brown middle, and red quiet. Not sure about black and white/grey/"linear", but I think they are more on the quiet side. They also very in responsiveness and "feedback" while pressing the keys. This keyboard is all the way a "Cherry MX Blue" keyboard, with keys that are literally loud enough you can't hear the TV well in the next room when I'm typing flat out. It is literally as loud as the old mechanical typewriters for those of you that are old enough to actually know what that sounds like. I keep my wife up at night upstairs in the bedroom with the door closed using this keyboard. So - just for those who, like me, didn't understand all the above before buying this, understand this may have a feel that some people like the best, and some may actually like the clattering, almost clanging sound, there is a good chance you will have a hard time thinking while you are typing on ANY "Cherry MX Blue" keyboard. I HIGHLY recommend testing out a blue switch keyboard in a local store or at a friends before buying one of these. You've been warned. OVERALL RATING: This is a great keyboard if you can stomach the noise and like the feel. I think the keypress feel is fine, maybe even great. I give it five stars for what it is, despite the jet engine like racket it generates. If that's your thing you will love this. The volume wheel is great. The lighting is good (though I haven't much messed with it). It's nice and bright, etc. I haven't really used the extra macro keys, etc. either. I just wanted a good backlit keyboard with separate volume keys/buttons or preferrable a volume wheel, which this had. For all those purposes, this perfectly fit the bill. Now I'm looking for a Cherry MX Red keyboard, or something similar that is quieter. I can't handle the noise, but I won't knock off a star for that. My fault for not researching more, I guess.

Very easy to set up and pleasant to use. The keys are quite noisy but I don't consider it a significant downside. It also comes with a small selection of extra keys with functions such as remotely controlling a media player in the background. Useful if you're the type to play YouTube in the background while you play something else. Also comes with a volume scroller. Comes with a variety of color modes that can be switched or toggled with a simple key bind. Very nice keyboard overall. Highly recommended.

orig: I'm sincerely writing this from my cell phone whilst sitting in front of my computer & this keyboard because i simply don't want to hear it. in terms of materials and craftsmanship: this keyboard is a beast and should deserve 4-5 stars. ●it's got some weight to it, feels quite robust and sturdy in every aspect. ●the fold out legs on the back are the burliest I've ever come across - for the first time ever I'm not afraid they'll be broken just by flipping then out. ●lighting effects are more or less as pictured & described, although quite lackluster and 'meh' in all reality. the end lights are absolutely pointless as they barely even reflect off the desktop - needs better diffusers, more lights and power, or just nix 'em altogether ●key clicks are very distinct and clear, but also my biggest complaint against this keyboard: the noise they make is so ridiculously loud it quite literally echoes throughout my house. i turn my stereo up loud enough for things to rattle off my desk & can still hear every. single. keystone. I've been sitting here trying to think of obscene noises to compare it to: that custom exhaust on any random mustang at the strip mall. the toddler crying throughout the entire cinema. the incessant yapping of an untrained ankle-nipping taco bell appetizer of a purse-puppy at the park. the list of side effects at the end of every big pharma commercial. Not one of those compare for the simple fact you know those will all eventually run out of steam. but this thing... this thing feels so robust i fear I'll blow my eardrums out before a single key gives in. so yeah, absolute love/hate. edit: Redragon took the time to reach out to me regarding the above review. By all counts, their customer service matches the build quality behind their name: exceptional. my original review of the product was 3 stars, now increased as i fully respect a company who not only stands behind their product but makes the concerted effort to ensure customer satisfaction. While i cannot understand how this keyboard can make such a ruckus there's no denying it is exceptionally well built. i hope 4 stars is a fair compromise between the following two perspectives: first -the 3star review was heavily influenced by focusing solely on the noise and lights, and second - Redragon customer service and faith in product is worthy of 5 stars.

I recently bought an un-godly number of keyboards, looking for an upgrade or change from my well loved Corsair K70 Lux RGB with brown switches. I opted for the newer K70 Pro with optical linear switches as my new daily. Those switches are amazing and the keyboard is solid and sexy! The Red Dragon K580 VATA RGB is just as good and better is some aspects. First, the build quality is top notch. The blue switches are nice and satisfying if you like tactile and clicky. The layout is basically perfect for a full board with macro keys on top left and media controls on the top right. The volume wheel has become a mandatory feature for me, and this one is smooth and solid. The one feature that this board has that beats out the Corsair: Programmable RGB WITHOUT SOFTWARE! I run Linux on all of my machines and obviously none of the mainstream brands offer their software for Linux, and even if they did, I wouldn't want that bloated spyware laden garbage anyway. Red Dragon has managed to offer a HUGE range of custom lighting options that you can pretty easily achieve with just the function key. The other feature that I am enjoying is the programmable macro keys. It's not a deal breaker to not have them but it's pretty sweet for saving time and keystrokes. For the price, and even for twice the price, I'm not sure you can do better than this board. I did try the red switches as well and they were actually even better than the blues (for my taste). Personally, if I chose this keyboard for my daily, I would choose the red switches. Either way, it's a matter of taste and you can't go wrong on this one. One last note, I also tried the K622 Horus TKL RGB and it was also great but I felt the media switches were just a little lower quality. That's not a huge deal as those are rarely used and if you want TKL layout, that keyboard is also incredible overall.

Ladies and Gentleman, I am NOT a paid advertiser. I bought this product for the first time. I am an extremely active computer user on a daily basis. I always get high quality key boards, mice, headsets, computers, due to my hobbies. This is the first review I have done on a keyboard. I HIGHLY recommend this keyboard to anyone that uses their computer for anything competitive or professional. This keyboard is a mechanical keyboard. If you don't know what that means, that is ok. It means it is a little louder but much more responsive and generally, a mechanical keyboard will last you for years due to the rugged design. This is absolutely the BEST keyboard I have ever purchased. I honestly can't rave about this item enough. I think I am going to buy a second one as a back up. This keyboard also has volume control. If you like micro set ups, It can save these things too. If you don't know how to set up the advanced features of this keyboard, just use chatgpt and it will guide you through everything you can do with this keyboard.

WOW! You're telling me this thing is $63?! That is a STEAL. Looking for a nice mechanical RGB keyboard? This is the one. Corsair is great, but most of the time they're all expensive since they're the Mercedes of computer parts. Yes those keyboards are great, but when I say this is just as good, I'm not kidding. First of all, the keyboard has everything on-board. You can get software on Windows for it, but you don't need it unless you want to change the colors of certain effects, because you can change all the effects, record macros, and a lot of other options without any software installed. This is great for people who use Linux (like me) because most of the RGB keyboards out there need software installed to have the effects work. Usually on Linux you need unofficial software to get keyboard effects to work with RGB lighting, but this keyboard does everything itself, no official or third-party software required. Now for the keyboard itself. First of all, the effects are crazy cool. There's so many different options and you can change them on the fly with a couple key combinations. Secondly, the keys respond so well, and feel fantastic. THEY'RE SUPER LOUD IF YOU GET THE BLUE SWITCHES, SO KEEP THAT IN MIND. I LOVE that it's loud, Blue is my favorite mechanical key type. If you don't want your keyboard to be loud, then get the optical brown switch one. It's just a little more expensive, but it'll save you from having loud keys without compromising the feeling and responsiveness of the keys while you type/game. Last but not least, the peripherals work super well, Linux or Windows. Media keys are flawless, and the volume control works really well and feels nice to use. Even if money isn't an issue, this keyboard is still a fantastic value. I'm already in love. If something happens like the keys act funny, I will update this review, but I highly doubt that'll happen. The other reviews aren't kidding, this keyboard is literally probably the best value available. If I get another keyboard or any of my friends need one, this will be the product I recommend. Oct 2021 Edit: Over a year later (purchased this in May of 2020). The LED lights started dimming out like crazy about a month ago. The E, S, Z, I and O are the only letter keys still fully lit (all the none letter keys are still fine!). I'm leaving this at a 5-star rating because this has lasted vastly longer than the Corsair board that this replaced and for a "budget" keyboard to way outdo one of the big boys on the block is absolutely amazing to me! Original review: This review is for the Redragon K580 VATA Keyboard. I'm a moderate gamer and I work from home, in a "call center" environment. So I needed a keyboard that could take heavy use. Logitech and Corsair have both failed me in recent years, so after a bit (I.E. hours and hours, leading into weeks!) of video reviews, I figured I'd give this "off brand" a try, since the big names are now just resting on their names and churning out crap products at insane prices. The Road to this keyboard: For years I have trusted Logitech as my go to company for computer peripherals. However, their gaming line up in mechanical switch types leaves a LOT to be desired, so I tried the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum (purchase date July 30, 2019 https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-PLATINUM-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B01MS0I1ZK). Within days of receiving that keyboard the light behind the "C" key started to dim as time went on other keys started to dim, some going almost completely out. Since this was a gift from one of my daughters I kept using the board and trying all the "fixes" Corsair jokingly has on their forums. None have worked, and not even a year later I'm hunting for a replacement to a $200 "premium" keyboard. I needed one that I could replace parts on it (just in case, since I'm not a DIY, fan but will DIY if need be). Dedicated volume rocker, per key lighting, software to allow me to set the lights for working vs gaming (clean one color for working). These requirements alone knocked all the big names out of the running. This lead to two keyboards, the TECWARE Spectre Pro Keyboard (sadly not available in the USA yet) and this one. Both had what I was looking for, but the Spectre Pro is more stylish and has a detachable cable, but since it is not available here, the Redragon VATA won. The Review: I'm not much for the unboxing thing, but ya, it came in a box and I took it out of said box. It has extra switches, a key puller and switch puller too. It has survived a month of gaming and working so far. Games include Rust, Conan Exiles and Rocket League to name a few. Working includes at least 10 8 hours sifts of non-stop calls and typing in customer responses, queries, fixes, etc. The rest of the month were normal shifts of mainly 10 calls per hour. This keyboard shows zero signs of wear yet and I have come to trust it! Pros: * Sturdy with almost zero key wiggle. * Lighting is more than bright enough to see colors in full sunlight. * Volume rocker has tactile response when turning it so one can feel how many "clicks" (bumps?) they are going up or down. * Heavy enough to stay in place (on large mouse/keyboard pad), with zero sliding. * Full size, but small footprint (no extra crap added for the hell of it, wasting space!) Pro/Cons: * No USB pass through. I see this as a pro since I have 3.0 USB hubs to handle other peripherals, but some people are still stuck in the last decade I guess and might see this as a con. Cons: * Attached cord. * Metal "twang" sound when bottoming out the keys. After the first night of use I don't notice it anymore, unless I try to hear it. In conclusion, I'd say so far so good and have already started looking at Redragon first for other items I might need (Free hint: Wireless headsets would be a nice addition to your line up!).

To be honest, I have not bought this keyboard for gaming purpose. I'm developer and as a developer, we write lot's of code and it requires good keyboard. Before going for Redragon K580 VATA, I looked around for may keyboard and many of recommendation was for TVS gold and Ritcomp Cherry because in India, these are the most common keyboard you can find and even many banks use this same. If you get one of these keyboards, they cost around 2500-3500 which makes no sense to be honest because no backlight and made out of plastic. By Just paying 1500 more, you can get this K580 Vata. So Far, I'm using this keyboard from last one month and the experience with this keyboard is next level. Specially on keyboard, it has volume and keyboard brightness roller which is quite handy and damn satisfying to use. While doing research, I also considered Redragon K586 Brahma which is next gen of k580 vata but it's not available in India. I wish K586 could have launched in India. But still, K580 vata it's really great keyboard and comes with may functionality. Although I have not used every functionality because I'm not Gamer so I can't give gamer's perspective but as a programme and heavy keyboard user, it's really grate. One thing annoys me is, the software is not good. It's to buggy and doesn't work well. This is best keyboard under 5000. I can easily recommend this keyboard. Thanks

Great keyboard for the price. Has all the features you would want (RGB, Media Controls, Volume scroll wheel), the side RGB light bar is a nice add-on. Comes with blue optical switches, which feel great. Comes with extra switches (Blue, black, red and brown). Key and switch removing tools included. You can also download the redragon app to customize the RGB lights.

I like this cl-icky one. Feels like I am much more productive.
