SnackMasters California Style Turkey Jerky, Hot & Spicy, 2-Ounce Packages (Pack of 8)

I used to buy this brand in my local Trader Joes, then they started making their own brand which is totally different. It is a very dry jerky and has a nice teriyaki flavor without being over powering. I've had the original, which is also very tasty, but I prefer this. Only drawback is the price. This is not something I can afford to buy on a regular basis. So if you have the money and the jaw muscles, try it out!

This box of 8 had an exp date of 7.29.16. I was happy to get another orfet at close to the same cost as last year. The taste was great but all bags were rather chewy or dried more than any Snackmasters turkey jerky I ever had. The first bag was so dry that a piece snapped off and could barely be chewed. Second bag a little better but dried and a piece had to be snapped off and carefully chewed a long while before swallowing. The other bags were also tough. Like I said the taste was the same so I kept this order. I hope the next box is moister.

The first bag my hubby and I had was very good. It was big pieces that weren't too tough and I LOVE that this jerky is nitrate free!! The second bag we ate as a snack while driving at night so we didn't see all the peppercorns in the bottom of the bag! What we thought was little pieces of jerky was actually very hot black peppercorns and we didn't have any water to wash it down! Yikes, that was painful :o( There wasn't any in the first bag we ate so I guess we will just have to be more careful in the future since the jerky isn't really uniformly packaged.

I had high hope for this Turkey Jerky especially with all the good reviews and the all natural. I really hate sweet Jerky and every brand I try is sweet and loaded with chemicals. So, this sounded like it would fit the bill. However, this like their beef jerky had a taste all it's own and it was not pleasant in any way. Back to Jack Links turkey jerky at least for the mean time and hit the drawing board again to find one less sweet and more salty/savory than Jack Links.

I enjoy this product a lot when it is fresh. The problem is that the quality of the product varies and you don't know if you are going to get a box of fresh cuts or stale (hard as rock) pieces. When fresh, i think it is one of the best tasting jerky out there. However, when it is stale and hard, it is not edible. Because of the inconsistency in the quality, I will not be purchasing this product again. Its a shame, but they need to work on quality control.

I absolutely love this Turkey Jerky. Of all the jerky's I've purchased it's by far the best outside of the local butcher I grew up next to (which is a LOT more expensive, and also a very different sort of jerky.) This jerky is really salty, but in a really good way where you can't stop eating it. As this is amazingly addictive stuff, I recommend watching how much you eat - I'm guessing there's a LOT of salt in it (which makes the smaller bags pretty ideal!)

This is hands-down our family's favorite jerky. It is very flavorful and peppery but not hot (original flavor). If you like gooey jerky, you probably won't like this. If you like jerky that doesn't leave your fingers greasy but is a touch on the dry side - try it.I also have to say that I love these small, convenient 1oz single size servings - they are easy to slip into a bag and make a great afternoon snack.

I was looking for snack bags of turkey jerky to keep around when I need a snack.This one, although the taste is fine, is one of the tougher chews I have experienced. It is stringy and thin. I have had others than are meatier and not as tough to chew. it is basically a single serving package, not resealable. I would say it is just "ok".
