Very informative
I still had questions and didn't answer everything I wanted to know, but gave me a working knowledge to have a discussion. It is amazing how this religion has so many contradictions, yet people still believe in it.

Great explanation of differences between Islam and Catholicism
This is a very interesting book written by a former Muslim who converted to Catholicism and by a co-author who has written previous books on Islam. One of the things I like about the book is the list of 100 questions in the book. Those questions comprise almost all of the book. Here are some examples of them:What is Islam? (question 1)What is the Koran? (question 7)What does the Koran teach about Jesus? (question 33)Why don't Muslims believe that Jesus died on the cross? (question 38)I have heard that Muslims have a high regard for Mary. Why is this? (question 40)Does Islam have a teaching authority similar to the Pope and Bishops? (question 41)Are there historical mistakes in the Koran? (question 49)The information in this book is well documented with 110 footnotes shown in the back of the book. This book has an index and will be welcomed by anyone who wants to know the differences between Islam and Catholicism.

Qur'an not divinely inspired
Excellent book, among several on this subject. It exposes the Qur'an as being inaccurate in much of its historical recitation of the Christian faith, demeaning if not heretical of Jesus as not being the Son of God, and vehement (if not warlike) in its proclamations that nonbelievers not only are going to Hell, but should be killed by all Islamic believers. Thus it is difficult to understand why even "peaceful and moderate" Moslems base their faith on such a supposed "divine revelation" as the Qur'an. On the other hand, it is easy to see why Jihadists base their faith on the Qur'an. It is unfortunate that an entire religion, once understood, can be so suspect in its authenticity and in its supposedly being the word of God. This book - and others on the same subject - are eye-opening on the subject.Christians as well as Moslems need to read this book. And then, unlike some of my friends who advise me to "be tolerant" of others' religions, one might rise up in anger and resentment at what is the true evil in the world nowadays.

Outstanding, to the point, and not bias at all.
Given the attentive circumstances in the world today, this book is a valuable instrument of clarity on many issues and questions that Christians and Non- Christians alike could benefit greatly from.If you are Catholic, you would be shortchanging yourself by not reading this.If you are not Catholic, you will not be shortchanged by reading this book.I would not hesitate a moment to highly recommend this book for anyone to read. It is not malicious, it is written in a very practical and respectful fashion that follows a logical analysis of available doctrine and historical facts with references.

Excellent read
Discovered many aspects of the muslim religion of which I was totally unaware. Easy to read and understand in a simple question and answer format. A must read read for all Catholics as we encounter more and more Muslims in our daily lives. Advice on sharing our faith was very helpful and encouraging.

Disappointed and Baffled
I have to admit that I only read the first 29 pages of this 179 page work - because I became too angry and amazed by what I saw that the authors had allowed to be written in the forword. For instance, on the bottom of page 12 in the forword, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, S.L. wrote, "Though unabashedly Christian, Daniel Ali and Robert Spencer have chosen to treat this world religion and its believers with the respect they are due." That statement begs this question: How is it that Fr.Mitch Pacwa believes that a religion as immoral, perverted, hateful, unjust, violent, barbaric and crimially insane as Islam undeniably is and those who practice it deserve ANY respect? On the next page, Fr. Pacwa goes on to say, "...they take the claims of Islam seriously (!??), as is proper for a religion which has changed the lives of hundreds of millions over thirteen centuries and across many cultures." So, lets look first at the claims of Islam. Actually, since there are so many claims made by islam, let's take just one - the most outrageous one - that Muhammad was the ideal human being and that to be the best Muslim one can be, all Muslims should try to be as much like Muhammad as possible. The only problem with that is that Muhammad was no prophet but a psychotic criminal, a pedophile, an archtypical misogynist, a homacidal maniac, a megalomaniac, etc. As for the part that says Islam "has changed the live of hundreds of millions...", of that there is no doubt: Islam certainly did change the lives of hundreds of millions of people: Islam was responsible for the murder of something like 450 million people in the 14 centuries it has existed. And the ones it didn't murder, it either enslaved of 'persuaded' to convert to Islam by giving the choice not to convert such unpleasant consequences. Now keep in mind that Robert Spencer and Daniel Ali both had to agree to have the forward mentioned above be part of this work. Having read most of Robert Spencer's other books, I am amazed that he would let anyone make the ridiculous statements that Fr.Mitch Pacwa made in the forward of a book of his about Islam.

As more facts are appearing about Islam as a belief system, this book ranks as one of the best written. Not only Catholics need to read this but any person that loves and appreciates freedom within the law. This book written by people who know the Quran backwards, speaks plainly without inflaming passions.Facts are put to you,it's now up to you to decide. If you are a Muslim you have some serious life changing decisions to consider. If you are a Non Muslim you now know more about a Faith that is making the news almost every day of the week, and why this is.Read it, for humanities sake, you must!
