Great product.
Very bright--even in daylight. Long battery life and light enough to be unnoticeable on our helmets. Great safety feature. Get compliments on how visible we are on the bikes. No false triggers: they illuminate only when warranted (braking, deceleration, etc). Kudos!

Pricey but it gets the job done.
I've been riding for over 30 years. I always used to only be really concerned about deer and drunks, and I could sort of control for both: stay off the back country roads at dawn and dusk, don't be around the bars when the drunks are getting out. There was always the possibility of someone accidentally running a red light and things like that, but those two were pretty much my top two worries, especially here in western Michigan where deer are plentiful. Nowadays those have fallen to the number 2 and 3 spots and both are far, far away from the new number 1, and that is these careless idiots who cannot bring themselves to drive without staring at their stupid phone. They are so reckless, so distracted and so oblivious to the safety of those around them. Consequently, I now do everything I can to make myself more visible to everyone on the road but particularly to the cell phone people. I have just about every sort of bright LED brake and brake strobe light that you can add to a Harley Road Glide and tour-pack. This item is yet another stab at making me more visible and it fills the gap left by the lack of attention grabbing lights when I am decelerating without using my brakes (by downshifting or just rolling off the throttle for example). Two days after I received it I installed it on my helmet and went for a three day 1,300 mile ride with about 50 of my rider friends. I didn't tell anyone about it, I just put it on and rolled with it. I rode around with different guys from our group on our trip and at the stops the most common question was "what is that thing doing? It's not synced to your brake light. It sometimes comes on with your brake light and sometimes it doesn't. So what's it for?" The most common comment I got was "boy that thing is bright!" Even though I had to explain what it was doing, I consider that a win, because it grabbed their attention and made them notice me even if they didn't exactly know what was going on. It made me more visible and alerted them when I decelerated. Mission accomplished. As for ease of installation, it's very easy but you need to be patient and take your time. The 3M double sided tape fixed to the mounting bracket is not very forgiving. If you mount the bracket cockeyed there is no easy way of undoing it. I mounted the bracket to the light before removing the double sided tape backing and played around with where it would sit on my helmet. I have a modular LS and I wanted to make sure that the light would not interfere with my chin bar when it was raised. Once you figure out where it's going to go, the included template comes in handy. I picked out the perfect spot and scotch taped the template to my helmet so it wouldn't move around during installation. My particular helmet had a sort of bump-out right in the middle of where I wanted the light to go so that's where the mounting bracket went. As a result, the light does not quite sit flush with my helmet but it's close enough and doesn't make any practical difference. The light is compact and weighs almost nothing, you can't even tell it's there. You also, of course, can't see when it's working. But based on the comments from my buddies, I know it's getting the job done - particularly around sweeping corners where I tend to use my gears to slow down rather than my brakes. More than one guy told me that it was useful when following me through the twists to know when I was slowing down. I left our breakfast on the first day and rode around with it for about ten hours and the battery was still going strong. Granted, I would turn it off during extended stops, but the battery level never got below 75% that I could see. It also charges really fast with a good USB C charger. The bottom line: It isn't the cheapest accessory in the world, but it's easy to install, easy to use, its super bright and it certainly makes you noticeable. The added peace of mind is well worth the price in my book.

Great product HELPS YOU RIDE SAFELY save a life YOURS
Not perfect but worth the piece of mind - works well enough that YOU and those you know should take your safety seriously. Bought my son one and was impressed enough to buy one for me after I saw it work. Spend a little time so it sticks where you want it also check out the flash options. People coming over a hill behind you have a prayer of stopping in time as they can see the highest point of you all lit up! Better than most motorcycle tail lights and much higher! Good value - bought mine on sale. Very bright pretty nice design - battery life is OK but you should check it after every ride so you get a feel for how often to charge it.

Amazing safety measure!
The Brake Free Helmet Light is a top notch product to help keep you safe! I commute to work Monday through Friday, and with the winter months here, it gets darker much earlier so I wanted to make sure that I'm seen when I leave work at 6pm when it's dark. Living in Southern California, there are SOOO many drivers that tend to tailgate even when I'm driving. It seemed to be worse when I'm riding. Ever since I started using this, it has been an overall game changer and I've noticed that drivers tend to keep their distance now because i'm more visible. The light is SUPER BRIGHT, and is at the right height to make sure I'm noticed. It comes with 2 different mounts to use depending on the helmet you have so be sure to double check which mount to use because it comes with 1 standard and 1 XL mount. I have 2 different helmets that both take the standard mount so I ended up buying an additional set of 2 standard mounts. I also added one mount to my wife's helmet since she is my passenger and would be on the back of the bike. I would just pop it off my helmet and put it to hers. The mounts are easy to stick onto the helmet, especially since they provide a guide to line it up properly. It has 3 different light modes to choose from and the button is supposedly much easier to access on the later model. I didn't have the Gen 1 version so I can't confirm, but it is fairly easy to reach and press even when riding. It's a must have especially if you're commuting.

I feel so much safer!
This thing is great. It feels a little crazy to spend this much on a single light, but it's worth it. It just simply works, no apps or wifi. It feels solid in my hand, good build quality. Im not afraid to ding it on something. When you think about it too, a lot of car tail lights will cost you the same, if not more. This thing works so seamlessly i forget I even have it on. Even tho I don't remember it's there, it's working to make sure I don't get smushed like a bug between two cars at a red light. The security in that increased visibility is worth it at the end of the day.

Works great even in bright sun. Good piece of equipment that every rider should have.
Have had mine for a while now and love it. I had others riding behind me saying it was very bright even on sunny Florida summer days. Some of my buddies bought one after seeing it. I have not had any issues. It fit my Scorpion ADV helmet with the included mounts, but for my Shoei RF 1400, I had to get the one made for it directly from their website. It works well on both and the battery life seems good. Anything extra to keep someone from rear ending you is a good thing.

Easy installation, charge lasts long, and very bright.
I bought this after seeing my motorcycle instructor having one. Anything to help with being seen by other people driving is a great thing. I have witnessed people being stopped at a red light and being pinned between two cars because the person claimed they couldn’t see the motorcycle. Solid construction, easy to mount, extremely bright lights for day or night, two mounting bases for taking off from one helmet and placing onto another helmet. The mounting bases are installed on the helmet with a strong adhesive. This means that you will not compromise your helmet’s strength and durability by using screws or whatever. Use the template for installation of the base. Make sure you clean your helmet and let it dry before you install the base. It charges with a USB-C cord. Price was a little bit of a shock but compared to a hospital visit or even a little fender bender it’s absolutely worth it. I have had 14 people ask me where I bought it and they said they would be purchasing it as well. It’s a durable solid plastic so it will take some abuse. I haven’t tested the water resistance yet. I have included some photos on my SHOEI RF-SR helmet for you to see what it looks like and how bright the LEDS are. I 100% recommend it for everyone who rides. Maybe they will change the shape somewhat for those who have the old school bucket helmets or the half helmets that some Harley Davidson or Indian riders wear.

Amazing helmet addition.
Awesome addition for safety, great for the times you are out at night but good overall. I do with the daytime mode was brighter, but keep the rest the same for dusk and night riding. Fits my Shoei Neotec 3 without issues. Battery life is decent. I do wish more things charged faster now but those are nitpicks.

Worthwhile added safety
Really happy with my brake free light on my helmet. So far it's been great, anyone who has driven behind me says it's bright and noticeable. It gives a bit of confidence that I'm more visible as I'm a new rider and I engine brake.

Breakfree Light Black
Excellent product, looking forward to using it. Ir comes with 2 mounts had it fixed to two of my helmets, it's good can be removed when not needed as it makes the helmet heavy. It already has a cardo fixed on. But overall very happy with the build quality.

Brake Free helmet light
Very easy to install. With cars and trucks with a high mount brake lights, I now feel more protected. Some drivers that I have talked too, says you are hard to see when stopping, what are they looking at? Now all I need is warmer weather to ride my motorcycle. Just want to say many thanks.
