Acer 18.5in FHD 1920x1080 IPS 100Hz Slim Portable Monitor PM191Q Ebmiuux

I travel for work and needed a second monitor. I went through about 5 different portable monitors before I got to this one. Specifically here is what I needed: decent size, fits in a large backpack for travel (under seat airport travel), 100 hz, decent color/resolution, able to be powered from my laptop usb c port alone. Size wise this barely fits in the backpacks I use for work but probably wouldn’t fit a regular size jansport bag. Does not come with a case but I bought an 18.5 padded case and screen protector that fit fine. It is 100hz which is a huge help for all day use eye strain and gaming (blue light filters don’t do anything for me and I can see screen flicker below 100. Color is OK for a portable monitor but if vibrant colors are necessary for your job you should probably look elsewhere. I have to max almost everything and even then it is still just barely not there (fine for my use). Power wise I have a Panasonic toughbook with dedicated power supply and a single usb c port. With the laptop plugged in (either off or on) I can still run the monitor off its usb port at 100hz and enable VRR on my Steam Deck. This is super important to me as some hotels can be limited on power options and it is one less thing to bring when traveling. Running this setup (laptop dedicated power, usb c to monitor, full size HDMI from the steam deck dock to the monitor) I am able to take full advantage of the monitor and its capabilities. One thing to note though is the existing HDMI cable that comes with the monitor does not support VRR. Also Ethernet HDMI cables don’t work either. You will need a separate HDMI 2.1 cable or better to support VRR. I had one and after fighting with my steam deck I was able to get it to work. So overall, this monitor was perfect for my needs. It works great for work and gaming. The size is perfect and even coming from two 32inch monitors at home I don’t feel like I am compromising anymore when I travel (definitely not the case with 16 inch monitors). If it will fit your backpack or needs just get it, this is the one.

I bought this during Amazon Prime Day to use as a second monitor for engineering work, and it's been an excellent addition to my desk setup. ✔️ Bright, sharp 1080p IPS display ✔️ 100Hz refresh rate makes everything feel smooth ✔️ Full-size HDMI and two USB-C ports ✔️ Can be powered through a USB-C hub or the included power adapter ✔️ Plenty of picture settings, including Black Boost I've included a photo of it below my 34-inch ultrawide. It gives me a dedicated screen for AI chats, terminals, documentation, and monitoring builds while I keep my main display focused on coding. For productivity, the added real estate has been well worth it. The display quality is very good. Colors are bright, text is crisp, and after enabling the Black Boost setting the picture looked even better to me. The included connectivity is another plus. I like that it has a full-size HDMI port instead of requiring adapters, and powering it over USB-C through my dock keeps cable clutter to a minimum. I did add a right angle adapter though so the HDMI cable was not putting strain on the video port. The only downside is portability. At 18.5", it's larger than what I'd want to throw in a backpack regularly. I also own Acer's 15.6" portable monitor, and that model is much better suited for traveling to customer sites or server rooms. This one feels more like a portable desktop monitor than a travel monitor. When I'm not using it, I store it in the molded foam packaging it shipped with for extra protection. If you're looking for an affordable portable monitor primarily for a home office or desktop workspace, this has been an excellent value.

This is a great second monitor! I needed something larger than my laptop screen for spreadsheets on the go and this was the perfect purchase. The stand in the back is solid at any angle. Comes with all the cables you need plus a couple. Plug in, turn on, and get to work!

So far so good. I’ve purchased a couple different brands and they work a few times and die or they have software that has to be downloaded and doesn’t work. This one is plug and play. Color and brightness is good. Nice size travel monitor for work. Good value for $. Very happy.

This is a pretty good monitor. It doesn't have the best dynamic range you've ever seen, and the screen doesn't get super bright so it'll get washed out in direct lighting, but under normal situations, it gets the job done well. In the end, that's all that matters. The colors look good. Nothing bad going on in that department. Image quality is good for 1080p. I wish they would've included a protective cloth sleeve to put the monitor in, but I'll figure something out for that. It fits perfectly in the laptop compartment of my Ruggard Lynx 55 backpack. Build quality seems pretty good. There's a little bit of flex to the monitor when you start twisting on the sides, but it doesn't feel flimsy by any means. The stand is adjustable to any angle you'd like. I'd definitely buy another if I break this one.

My cat laid on my laptop and messed up the keyboard. So, now I use it like a desktop and this is the monitor for that set up. It works fine for surfing the web, and most important for my situation, it is short enough to that I can close the my rolltop desk.

Great monitor. Using it as a second monitor. Monitor picture quality and color rendering are good. I haven't checked the speakers as I have other speakers. If I need another one, definitely buy this monitor. It has more area than the 15.6 inch monitors. So you don't have the feel of using a laptop screen. I don't usually write reviews. Since I am happy with the monitor, wanted to write.

Great monitor! So easy to set up and it is very slim and light. Very happy with it!

Works fine with USB c connected. Don’t need power cable. Just that it doesn’t come with a case and will need great care if you are carrying it around
